The Langham, Shenzhen, hotel in Shenzhen

Situated in the heart of Futian, Shenzhen’s commercial and retail hub, The Langham, Shenzhen conveys time-honoured traditions and luxury in the modern city.

World-class service. Was extremely comfortable and the staff had a great attention to detail. We can’t thank them enough for their generosity and patience with us. They were very helpful and we left feeling rejuvenated. The Langham in Shenzhen is what we needed. All was good - convenient to get to from the ‘city centre’ and close to all the major attractions and shops via the metro (which was affordable at between 3-5RMB per journey) or via DiDi. A young man at the front desk also gave us a recommendation for a more local dining experience which was a 10 minute walk from the hotel (with a Shenzhen brewery close by). We loved it. Many thanks to the team for an incredible stay. 谢谢!

InterContinental Shenzhen, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Shenzhen

InterContinental Shenzhen is a 5-minute walk from Huaqiaocheng Subway Station.

Sorry it had taken me a month to write this review. I want to especially thank the manager at the executive lounge (Even Lin 林伊雯). She was so helpful throughout the stay and helped me to contact the Didi company to find my iPhone which I had left on the Didi on the way to the hotel. She also helped us with other things as well during the trip which made our stay very smooth. We booked the InterContinental Club Room so we had club lounge access on the 7th Floor. We got upgrade to an even better room with a view to the theme park next door. The staff at the hotel are very professional. The hotel is very well ran with a family focus. We loved the pool /beach / water park in the middle of the hotel. There are elevators connecting the guests from the room floor straight to the pool area. The breakfast was amazing by the way. Lots of options of western and Chinese food. There is a underground train station a few steps in front of the hotel entrance. So it is well connected. We really enjoyed our vacation and thank you once again Club Intercontinental Manager (Even Lin 林伊雯).

FAQs about hotels in Shenzhen

Sparkling Chinese Metropolis

Shenzhen is considered one of the most successful and prosperous cities in China. It is located in the Guangdong province, along the border with Hong Kong. Although 30 years ago it was a small fishing village, the creation of the first Special Economic Zone transformed the region into a bustling metropolis with almost 15 million people.

Its shiny urban landscape and cultural life include contemporary icons like the Shenzhen Library, the Concert Hall, and the Portofino complex. The districts of Futian, Luohu and Nanshan are packed with modern hotels, including some of the best 4 and 5-star accommodation in Shenzhen.

The city is famous for its amusement parks, including the’Splendid China and China Folk Culture Villages’. During the 17th century, migrants from the northern Hakka peoples arrived in significant numbers, and remnants like the ‘Crane Lake Fortified Hakka Village’ are an important legacy. The region includes beautiful beaches, and the Dapeng Peninsula is gaining momentum as one of the country’s best coastal stretches.

The city is serviced by Bao'an International Airport, while Hong Kong International Airport is reachable by public transport. Ferry, bus and railway links to Hong Kong, Macau or Guangzhou are also available. Whether you need a fancy hotel in the business district or express accommodation near the airport, don’t miss the Shenzhen deals on Booking.com!

Shenzhen is a well managed modern city.

Shenzhen is a well managed modern city. It is ok even if you don't know a bit of Chinese. No problems in exploring and roaming around. Perfectly safe. Local Chinese people in Shenzhen are very cooperative and mind their own business. Very helpful and chill community. Night life is fantastic. I love to visit again for longer periods.

Shenzhen is a very vibrant city with a relatively young population, with the majority of the population under the age of 30. Nanshan is the high tech area where HQ's of tech firms are located, it is like Silicon Valley on steroids

    The subway system is huge.

The subway system is huge. You can find subway entrances almost anywhere you go. I carried a subway map and this enabled me to change lines at interconnected stations to get back to my hotel. The subway stations often have shops and eateries. They are so big that you need to be careful which exit you use. You can end up hundreds of meters away from where you want to be. There are many parks that are well kept and shady. The visitor needs to be aware that this city is not centered around Western tourism. If you speak Chinese you will be better able to enjoy all ShenZhen has to offer. The theme parks of "Window of the World" and "Chinese Cultural Village" are huge. You need to walk around them for 4 to 6 hours before nightfall and then stay for the lights. I found the people very friendly and most were willing to help me. They used their phone translator App to assist me. BE SMART, get a SIM card at the port of entry. All shops can only sell SIMs to people with a Chinese address and phone number. The ports have SIMs for tourists. Google translate doesn't work get another translate APP.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Only one spoke English, but she spoke English very well. The staff helped me organize a taxi when I was leaving the hotel, which I also appreciated. The room was clean, quiet, and absolutely pitch black at night (but with a really cool view of Shenzhen if I opened the curtains!). Decor was fun as well; I believe it's designed to have a classic Shanghai vibe. The location was good as well, right next to a mall and a subway station. Breakfast is fantastic.

Staff are really helpful and proactively helping us to resolve a few issues (in hotel & taxi) happened during our stay which is very much appreciated. Ask for non-smoking room...but still can smell the smoke especially at the corridor. The room is quite clean, but it's time to do the renovation. Unpleasant odor in the room. Upon entering, a strong, stale odor hits me. If we add an additional 200~300++, we can stay at a 5 star hotel. We are staying here because it is convenient for public transportation only.

Though not many choices are available for the buffet breakfast, the food is fresh and tasty. The things I like most are the spa pool on the 5/F of the hotel and spacious & cosy hotel room.
