The hotel is situated near the city centre, so I could reach everything on foot. Check in and out were easy, there is a parking lot and a snack automat in the lobby. All in all everything was okay.

Fantastic location, cheap rates, great food, and very helpful staff. I didn’t need to charge my motorcycle but those with EV’s will appreciate the 4 chargers available and all were in use by Tesla’s of various flavours. I will be back here some day

Located on the banks of the Fulda River in Germany’s Hessen region, Kassel was re-built after World War II where most of the city’s architectural history was destroyed. Although alot was destroyed, Kassel still features many prominent landmarks such as Königsplatz Kassel, which is a public square, the astronomy and physical cabinet of Orangerie and the splendid Town Hall Kassel.
Separating the city from the surrounding Hawk Forest is the stunning Wilhelmshöhe Palace and its adjoining Wilhelmshoehe Bergpark which features picturesque gardens, museums and the Ball House at the Wilhelmshoehe Palace.
Kassel has a variety of dining and entertainment options from the traditional Brauhaus to local and international restaurants, to appealing bars and cafés in the vicinity of Königsplatz Kassel.
The must-see museums of the city are the 18th-century Kunsthalle Fridericianum, the oldest public museum in Europe, and the famous fairy-tale Museum Brothers Grimm, who once called Kassel home.
Booking.com offers a variety of accommodation options in Kassel and across the Hessen region. Kassel Central Station offers direct routes to cities such as Frankfurt, Warburg and Eichenberg.
Attractive smaller city. It's almost unknown in Britain, but it has a five-year modern art festival called Documenta, which we had never heard of, lots of other attractions and green spaces - the Bergpark is a 'must' - and the people seem friendly. Then we spent our final day in ghastly Frankfurt, and wished we had stayed in Kassel.

The Weihnachsmarkt had a very nice atmosphere with good food and drinks. The city center has all the usual shops. Grimmwelt is a very extensive museum with a nice (but expensive) restaurant.
The annoying thing about Kassel is that they close a lot of things during certain periods of time. This is the second time we went and the planetarium was closed on both occasions (March and December). The Marmorbad was also closed. In March a few of the museums were closed.
If you want to go for a swim we recommend the Auebad. Mind, though, that the slides close in the evening (Kassel tradition, I guess?).

City itself is not so remarkable, but the downtown area and the Christmas market are nice. We stopped briefly at the Grimm World Museum but didn't have time to go through it. We found some good restaurants.

I've been to Kassel three times, each time for Documenta.
I've been to Kassel three times, each time for Documenta. I love the city, though it's hard to put into words exactly why. It has a great mix of the modern and the old (though mostly modern, because of its being unfortunately bombed during WWII), and lots of greenery (parks etc). Great public transportation. Lots of cultural stuff going on.
On the other hand, I think they should improve their bicycle lanes: they're often mixed use on the sidewalk, but it's not always clear where (or if) the bicycles should be riding.
Room was very clean. WiFi was very good. They provided bottled drinking water, which not many hotels in Germany do.
It may not be near the Wilhelmhöhe station that you should go to but tramways come often and the stop is not far from the hotel. Failed to try the very good value-for-money breakfast guests have been raving about because we had to leave earlier than when the breakfast starts.
The apartment was excellent inside, very comfy. The rooms are spacious with modern furniture.
The kitchen has all you need, even coffee machine with coffe and many other staff (tea, oils, spices, electric oven and stove).
It was clean and it had all facilities you need.
It is across the main train station and it is at 400m from city center.
We will return surely.
You really can't beat the location - steps away from the train station and close to all public transportation options. My room was rear facing and very quiet. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The one morning I had breakfast in the hotel, there were plenty of options available. There are numerous eateries within walking distance.
Location is very close to the main long-distance train station of Kassel (Wilhelmshöhe), i.e. just walk from the station. There is direct tram connections to the city center of Kassel, starting in front of the hotel (or in front of the train station, which is one tram stop away). Bed was very good. Friendly staff. Breakfast OK.
The hotel was in an excellent location, near tram stop into Kassel and lovely walks on the doorstep. Breakfast had a wide variety of foods, all were excellent especially the omelette made to order. Room service meals were great after a busy day out. Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and lovely spa facilities.
The bathroom is amazing, really one of the best in any price range I've stayed in.
The general feel of the room is really nice and the theme, a little quirky but fun.
The attached restaurant with amazing menu, live music and rodeo-bull riding every night, is rather unique. Certainly for Germany!!!
A charming small hotel, with only a dozen rooms. The room (top floor) was generously sized, and very comfortable, with a nice view. Great location, right next to the entrance to the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe (a UNESCO heritage site). Very nice breakfast. Friendly and and courteous staff.
Modern, easy to reach, very clean hotel with comfortable rooms and a great restaurant and bar. Very helpful and friendly staff. The Italian food is amazing and fresh. Nearby there is a tram station, that brings you every 10 minutes to the centre of Kassel.
Nice location, convenient parking across the street. Comfy bed, nice linens, windows that one can open—rare in big hotels. Good buffet, best scrambled eggs! And an actual and great bathtub—haven’t seen one recently. The doggie treats were amazing!
- Large airy room with comfortable bed
- Clean
- Good seating with chairs and couch
- Centrally located in Kassel
- Reception staff very friendly and informative
- Parking area for bikes at rear of hotel
- Tea / coffee making facilities in room
Late booking due to original hotel closed from holiday (despite being booked months before). Breakfast good room fine only downside Bar and restaurant closed on the Saturday night of stay. Not knowing Kassel this was very inconvenient.
I liked the hotel. It was clean and the staff were helpful, but the location is not good. There is no shop around, and there is no bus route. Every time you go to the city or somewhere, you should take taxi which is very expensive.
The space is organized and the people in charge is really nice and helpful. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby and it is close to the city center of Kassel if you are by car.
They have a nice bar, they are pet friendly, staff is very kind, breakfast is great, location is conveniently close to center of Bad Wilhelmshöhe and to Intercity train station
Excellent breakfast - bacon to the taste of my travel companion! Great service! Good location between the bigger train station and the city. Tram stop next to the hotel.
Beautiful Hotel in the center of a forest. Very welcoming and (family-)friendly staff, delicious diner & breakfast, cozy rooms. An insider tip for the region of Kassel.
