We only stayed one night and in the winter. It looks like there is lots to do during the tourist season, when the mines and stone shops are open. Walking also looks excellent in the area. The local Spießbraten is something to have experienced, not for vegetarians, though there are always veggie options available in Germany now. The local Landbier is good too.AntjeUnited Kingdom

The kitchen has everything you need and more and the beds were pretty comfortable. For breakfast there are 2 bakeries down the street in walking distance. Our favorite was "Bäckerei Korn" The Steinkaulenberg mine can be reached within a few minutes by car and everything else around Idar-Oberstein-Oberstein is only a short car ride away. Would definitely stay here again. A big Thank you to the owners for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed as last-minute guests with our large dog who was warmly welcomed. Set against the forest it was very convenient for us to walk the dog and visit old castles along the track. Also if you drive electric there are chargers available within walking distance.

The street that the apartment is on is not very busy at all so we slept great both nights there, and the beds were very comfy!
