The property was in an excellent location right in town especially on the weekend when we could stroll down to the markets on Flinders Street. I stayed in a pet-friendly room with my accredited Assistance Dog which was lovely not to have to worry about constantly vacuuming up his hair being a tiled room on the ground floor. The room itself was nice, the bathroom was a little dated but functional and comfortable. The staff were friendly and approachable apart from one small issue.

We live in Cairns, which is only a 5.5-hour drive away from Townsville. We use the town for quick get aways and shopping not available in Cairns. Plenty of good places to eat with lots of variety from drive through to quality restaurants. Getting around is pretty easy if you have Google maps or similar. Loved the area with friendly people everywhere. Went to the Museum which my Great nephew really loved. All hands on. Went to Kirwan Bowling and had a great time with all our extended family. It is a nice city surrounded by some rainforest, farmland and bush. Lots to see and do. I loved the museums. I loved the botanical gardens; the hill overlooking Townsville is five minutes drive away from the hotel and you can drive or walk up it. The esplanade is worth the walk. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The property provided an extra mattress for our youngest child.
