We had a lovely few days at Divers' Paradise and would heartily recommend it to anyone staying in Bocas. The room was well appointed and clean. Location excellent (5-10m walk from the water taxi stop, 10m to the main strip, 15m walk to the airport). Great food and service at the restaurant.
Sadly didn't have time to dive, but they seemed very well managed (staff, equipment, etc) and I hope to dive with them in the future.

The environment, in the middle of the nature and the staff. The staff is very kind, they clean, change sheets and towels every day. The ladies at the breakfast are also fantastic. We saw monkeys and birds every day. We have free filtered water at the hotel.

This place is stunning. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bay which we could watch for hours, you might spot dolphins! Right from the start Feder and Remo couldn’t do enough for you, extremely helpful with anything you need, days out, boat trips etc. Every single meal is amazing, it’s all fresh produce from their garden or local and you can really tell, I think they should do a recipe book because I’d buy it!
The surrounding grounds are beautiful, the trees and palms are stunning and bring in wonderful birds.
If you feel this is too quiet one day Bocas is only 30 mins by boat and any day trips are available. We’d love to come back one day, it’s a bit of paradise.
Thank you Remo, Feder, Yu and Marcus.

The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the AC and hot water worked well. There is a vanity table with a mirror in the room and a side closet for hanging or storing things. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. They allowed me to store my luggage prior to the room being available.

There is road construction EVERYWHERE. We had no problem with their shared taxi, which means you will have several people squeezed in with you, going more or less in the same direction, but with the construction, many times your cab will not be able to reach your destination. This is Mexico 40 years ago.

Charming tourist town with friendly people and great choice of restaurants. There was a lot of construction and construction noise on the Main Street during our visit which prevented us from exploring the whole town.

If I was 25 and wanted to drink all day, it might be the place for a vacation. Lots of bars and clubs. I food is ok if you can get pass the barkers in the street. If you get out of city central, you can find some lovely beaches, but they are packed with people. We stayed in town for 5 days and two days on an out Island. Be prepared for many of the three- and four-star hotels have no AC. I have traveled all over the world; this would be on the bottom of my list. They haven't taken care of the environment or the waters that bring people to this location.

Be sure to wear the right shoes walking around Bocas Town,...
Be sure to wear the right shoes walking around Bocas Town, as it can get muddy and there's currently construction in town for a new sewer system. While the locals can be a bit assertive and follow you around offering you tour options (and drugs), they'll back off if you say no thanks. Do not drink the tap water and ask for filtered water stations (I also stuck with beer & wine versus mixed drinks with ice). A group from my hostel rented E-bikes which was the right choice to visit Bluff Beach, which made for a great afternoon.

Right now the streets are under construction….
Right now the streets are under construction…. And I mean ALL the streets. It’s tough on the tourism industry for that reason. There may not have been as many people visiting as there normally would be at that time of year. However, don’t let that stop you from going. It’s a fantastic place to visit. So much to se and do. Excellent restaurants.

Bocas del Toro is an overestimated island, public infrastructure is awful, with mud, and potholes everywhere, very difficult to walk and get anywhere. Prices of the hotels and restaurants are slightly exaggerated in my view.
The facilities and architecture are 10/10! Felt like we where in Bali, amazing place to disconnect, surf and relax. The hotels location is a bit off the crowd of bocas town, which is great, and right in front an amazing surf peak. the yoga studio and spa were super nice as well. rooms were clean and adequate. food quality was good, but since the hotel is far from the city the menu could have been more extensive. we ended up ordering sushi and pizza for delivery and going out just because the menu got boring
There are only 4 rooms (2 downstairs, 2 upstairs) all with a great view over the water facing Bocas Town. A $1 boat taxi brings you there in minutes which is really a pro (as that is where most shops are and tours depart). JP and Mandy are great hosts that do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Enjoy great breakfasts in the common open air sitting / dining room / kitchen, relax at your own veranda/balcony in front of your room or swim around (or under) the hotel (good snorkeling).
Nice place if you would like to experience some jungle housing. There are a lot of young cool travellers and packbackers, if you like to meet new people from all over the world this is the place to go! Every night there is a family dinner with other guests. A lil bit different experience than in usual accommodations. We liked it! Food was good and the pool was nice! Very beautiful views! It’s quite close to Bocas Town, easy to travel with water taxi.
First said: It‘s a really nice place!!! The location is stunning! It‘s just reachable by boat! They pick you up when you arrive and you habe your own hut on the water!! You can snorkel right there underneath! Equipment available at reception, not in best conditions but alright! The huts are really cool! you have so much space to hang around that‘s really cool!!
most of the staff was suuuper friendly!! the guy offers help if you want to book a tour!
El Clandestino is the perfect place to relax! It’s right on the water and there are SUP boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear you can use :) The food was really good as well. The owner Sebastian was really nice and even got us bus tickets for our bus to Panamá. He also arranged a tour for us and the other guests to Isla Zapatilla which was great. We’re very happy with our stay!
Great central location in Bocas Town. Sea view room was great. Only gave it an 8:10 this time because they are doing construction on the ocean-side which made sitting on the deck from 9 am to 6 pm unpleasant. We understood before checking in. Next month starts high season and now that covid restrictions are less they can finally have workers at the properties.
Lovely wooden buildings in a lush green property. Lots of space and super quiet at night. Well equipped kitchen and drinking water provided. Easy access to beaches, surf breaks, Bocas Town and other islands by water taxi from just outside the property. Lots of helpful info shared in advance of our stay.
We loved the open reception/ eating area as it was very welcoming and breezy.
The staff were so friendly and the owners were engaging and helpful.
The hotel is nice and clean and the breakfast options were good.
Water taxi's were easy to flag down and were just $1 to Bocas Town.
The location and ease of getting a water taxi. There a great restaurants on the island, so you don’t need to go to Bocas Town if you don’t want to. Ania is a wonderful host. She is warm and immediately makes you feel at home. I would stay here again.
The location is amazing right on the water, the staff is very helpful. I booked 2 nights and for personal reasons I didn't make it to the first night and Michel considered me for the price. An amazing experience for the whole family!!
- great location
- staff on front desk friendly and very helpful
- cafe out the back did a great breakfast
- rooms were well decorated and clean
- compared to some other hotels in Bocas Town, we got amazing value
A retreat from the noise of Bocas town where you are enchanted by the sights and sounds of the jungle.
The food was delicious and the staff were exceptional. I would return with friends and family.
Super friendly staff, hot water, free tea and coffee, nice view of bocas town, clean rooms, great price, classic hotel built in 1905. The breakfast is in a very nice restaurant nearby.
