Hands down and by far the most TO DETAIL stay we have ever experienced during our world travel. This hotel exceeded the expectations from the second we arrived to the valet parking area, to the reception (just at sunset time :)), to the perks (basket, hat, pajamas,treats...) provided as welcome gifts, to the aroma of the whole property. to the tasteful and beautiful decor. The food was great at the restaurant and the view from our secluded table for dinner was super romantic. Personnel and their attire is immaculate. The Laduree ice creams by the pool, the spa, gym,...the knowledgeable Concierge monsieur was super kind and helpful. This place is sooo romantic. It is costly yes, but the go above and beyond to please guests and provide a unique experience,....which lasts to the second we left. On departure they gave us Laduree macaroons for the road, water, wet towels and even personalized with initial luggage letter tags!!!! just amazing....we will recommend to all those romantics looking for the most upscale and pampering experience.....congratulations to the master minds of this hotel !! location is so beautiful and sunsets are glorious to feel the provenzal wind. xoxo

If you're planning on driving here with a rental car please be aware that it is extremely busy and the roads are incredibly narrow. My experienced driver was uncomfortable with parallel parking next to a precipitous drop The view that you often see in photos from the lookout near the village is beautiful but what you don't see are the lines of other people waiting to get the same shot. In short, it's incredibly touristy which does take away from the quaint ambiance I was looking for. We also visited Fontaine de Vancleur and found that village to be more manageable in terms of crowds, parking, and driving.

Gordes is a magical town, it's all walkable and you'll have plenty of choice for restaurants, be careful not to set out for dinner too late though as places seem to close quite early.
We had a fantastic meal at La Trinquette which I highly recommend. There's also a lively outdoor bar/restaurant opposite with a view!
If you're staying in the area and have access to a car, make sure you check out Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque for it's beautiful exterior lined with Lavender (no need to get sucked in to the hour tour), also be sure to visit Le Sentier des Ocres, Roussillon is a stunning town and the orange Quarry is definitely something not to miss!
Parking can be quite tricky in the very heart but it's a small town and two mins up the road is a massive car park.

Gordes is a beautiful medieval village with lovely shops and restaurants and stunning views. It has a wonderful market every Tuesday morning. However it can get hectically busy during the day as it is phenomenally popular with tourists. It’s best to visit it early, around 10 am, and even at 9am on market day. Limited parking if one is not staying within walking distance nearby

Gordes is a beautiful town with amazing views, some nice shops, several good restaurants, lovely village market on Tuesday mornings.
Stayed on the hill leading up to Gordes, about a 10 minute walk from the city. Perfect location - got some exercise walking up every day, but had enjoyed the space and quiet of being outside the village
Ate at several restaurants in Gordes. Most enjoyed our meals at L'Outsider and Le Garden.
We visited early June. The village had lot's of tourists but wasn't too busy overall. Expect it would be much more crowded in July and August

Gordes has quite a lot of history which is very informative and interesting.. However in the actual village itself there is not a lot to offer. La ville sous la ville is very interesting.
The surrounding villages of Gordes are perhaps more interesting with markets and local cuisine. Lourmarin is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed in Gordes for three nights.
We stayed in Gordes for three nights. Three full days would have been fine but we lost a day going back to Aix en Provence for a private cooking class.
The Luberon area is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed visiting many villages. Would highly recommend. Must have rental car.
The owners were very helpful and friendly. They help me arrange a reservation in the restaurants which were a wonderful ones.
About the hotel, serene atmosphere beautiful dipping pool, cozy tiny garden (a little bit overgrown plants and many dry leaves on the floor and sofa in the garden, but acceptable as the style of the hotel). I like to strolling around and chilling by the pool in the sunny day.
The location was located in the outside of center of Gordes, that makes it quiet and be private.
Located a short drive from Gordes, Hôtel Carcarille provides a great base to visit Gordes and to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is on scenic grounds with a lovely swimming pool. The room was on the small side but comfortable. (We skipped on breakfast.) Gordes is a uniquely beautiful village but accommodations in Gordes and immediately near it are limited an expensive. Hôtel Carcarille is a great alternative and, if we return to Gordes, we will return here, too.
The owners Luc & Marion do everything to assure guest. comfort. Each room is impeccably clean, stylish and equipped with incredibly comfortable beds and bedding. Towels were luxury quality and all accoutrements needed for bathing etc. were provided. Breakfasts were casually elegant with fab breads, preserves, fruits, cheeses, juice & coffee served either indoors or out. if you desire to be pampered. Provence 28 is your place for accommodation..
great location with an easy uphill walk to the town which was not far, beautiful renovated old property with lots of levels and stairs which did not bother us, great views and lovely to have a pool to cool off in. Every thing was catered for including provisions for cooking, coffee etc. , great host who met us and went through everything. It was the most beautiful property, views, location and facilities! a must-tray property in Gordes.
Reaching the hotel by car was a bit of a mission, requiring negotiating a long, narrow and winding road leading up to the hilltop town of Gordes, while trying not sideswipe the rental car or run over the hordes of tourists drawn by the same things that brought you to the Luberon.
But how else would you have a room with a balcony which offered the most stunning views over the entire valley below and the mountains beyond?
This was an exceptional experience, not only is the hotel beautiful in every regard, Regis and David were incredible in how they cared for us. They literally helped us plan each day out including where to visit and dine. Their recommendations were perfect to a tee. It made our stay on Provence one of the most memorable vacations we have ever had.
Thank you so much!
EVERYTHING. Luc & Marianne are spectacular hosts. Really raises the bar when it comes to hosting & welcoming guests in their homes/hotels. Everything was so thoughtful - from the Egyptian cotton sheets to the breakfast chats we had with Luc. We would definitely make a trip and go back to the south of France for this bed and breakfast.
This property is magical! Centrally located to explore Provence and less than 5 minutes from Gordes, it feels
like your own private oasis. A gorgeous garden, beautiful pool, stunningly decorated house. The room was large, well decorated and very clean. The staff were so accommodating and the breakfast was wonderful.
We had a great 2 night stay at the hotel. The property is beautiful. The pool was fabulous, the complimentary breakfast was nice, and we dined at the restaurant one night and it was expensive but good. The hotel owner went above and beyond to answer our questions and make our stay memorable.
Very well managed, spacious accommodation very close to the historical centre of Gordes. The bungalows (“Bastidons” following local language and tradition) are set in a well-tended, gated and walled complex, with parking and swimming pool, trees and terraces.
Absolutely incredible little haven of peace, close to Gordes. The garden was charming, the welcome warm, and the breakfast superbe. They even had gluten free options at the breakfast, and the most delicious local jams. 10s across the board.
Our stay at Airelles Gordes La Bastide was amazing! The property is so beautiful - both the exterior and interior. The room was very comfortable. The staff made us feel welcomed and were attentive. Can't recommend this hotel enough!
A wonderful country setting close to Gordes and other nearby towns. Upon arrival, we cracked a bottle of wine and enjoyed in the hosts garden before the rains descended. The breakfast was very good and served in our room.
This has been one of the most magical places we have stayed in. A 10 minute walk to Gordes, you have your own private house in the countryside to enjoy a true provencal experience. We will definitely come back.
The hotel is very good.
Location is wonderful, very close to Gordes.
Staff is friendly.
Breakfast was amazing.
Hotel has a very nice pool with wonderful pool area.
Stunning stone manor with a view across the valley and across the street a stunning view of Gordes. Tranquil in every way. Delicious breakfast, beautiful gardens.
