Booking was easy, the receptionist was very helpful, called, when we were running late to check if we were OK. Upon checking in, we went to check the restaurant on 3rd floor, it was very intimate, despite the vip roo. having been booked for a birthday party, we were accommodated and treated like royalty, the staff was amazing.

Its a historic town whose glory has now faded. The Big Hole was definitely worth a visit, but most of the other historic houses and museums that we wanted to visit are closed during the weekend. (so, doesn't make sense for an out of town visitor at all)

    People really friendly.

People really friendly. Lots of old buildings which 8s amazing. Roads terrible though but everything else perfect. Great halaal places to eat was Don Boi and Mini Pakistan. Went to see the the Big Hole and learnt some great history. Places are really close to each other and easy to find.

The area around the Big Hole are horribly run down.

The area around the Big Hole are horribly run down. It has wonderful late- Victorian architecture and if the authorities got their act together, it would be a great tourist attraction. The Big Hole museum is well run, but so much more could be done with the once fabulous outdoor museum (replica of the original old town)

The CBD (city centre) was incredibly dirty (litter everywhere) and felt mildly unsafe. This is sadly and unfortunately true of so many towns/cities (both small and large) throughout South Africa these days. The Big Hole Museum was a surprising breath of fresh air in an otherwise dirty and unwelcoming environment. The city roads were fairly delipidated, with lots of small potholes. Again, this is simply an indictment of the corrupt and distressingly mismanaged municipalities and local government structures operating throughout South Africa.

Official tourist location are limited to the diamond and war history. There ought to be more local adventures that tourists could participate in; Live music concerts, festivals, interesting spaces to connect with other tourist perhaps. Had lunch at the Protea Hotel (The Marriot), using a Bolt (Taxify). The drivers are friendly, so are the wait staff.

Milner House was a great surprise, it far exceeded expectations and the pictures on the site do not do any justice to this beautiful place. We were pleasantly surprised. Our stay was made more pleasant with your pleasant and helpful staff especially Sharon and her team. Breakfast was OK, there is room for improvement, but no complaints overall. We will definitely keep Milner House in mind the next time we visit Kimberley.

The room is massive and comfy. Nice aircon to help with the cold nights. The Tannie that welcomed me was so friendly and made me feel at home. Very clean place, it's a nursery after all. Just beautiful. The room has everything needed for self catering. It has a microwave, stove, fridge and all the cutlery and goods needed. They have solar power so no worries about loadshedding. The property was beautifully maintained and the facilities catered for everything that we needed. We loved how calm and private it was and in such a centralized location. Our room was cleaned and fresh towels placed for us everyday. We were truly thankful for the hospitality shared Wimpie was a great host. We recommend Cronin to anyone traveling to Kimberley

The sense of privacy was alarming but totally worth every cent. Had an Air BnB vibe to it. We booked one of their apartments. A little living area and kitchen set up. Large bedroom with a bathroom to match. Air BnB isn't big in Kimberley so this was refreshing as someone who loves privacy. Once you get your keys you won't see another soul till you leave.

Everything!!! This place is "home away from home ". I loved that it had everything from a spoon to an iron. Beds and pillows is so comfortable. It's definitely not your typical guest house, more like self catering accommodation. Will surely make use of it again when in Kimberly.

The property has all the historic charm of 1895 Kimberley, but it’s definitely been better maintained than the rest of the City in the last century. Breakfast was great, staff were accommodating and helpful and it had all the necessary amenities.
