The staff was different. Some of them very good and nice, some of them not so perfect. Position of the acomodation is close to the beach - 220 m. It is about 1200 m to the main concentration of tourist restaurants and shops (Senegambia street - achievable by 600 m walk along the beach) but there are a few restaraunts also close to the resort. The beach is very nice and not crowded. Breakfast was varied but partly not typical european one. Some meals would be expected more for lunch (spaghetti, meat,...). Wifi had several not serious break outs but not the hotel´s fault I think. AC - OK.

Also some love for Ibrahim he's a soul of a human!
The Area is quiet and peaceful, perfect after a stressful day in the City

Nice room, clean, welcoming hosts, good breakfast, nice pool. Tea and coffee always available. Location is a 15 minute walk from the beach. A 2 minute walk to a couple of good mini-markets. We really enjoyed our stay!

Very cleans and big rooms. Nice common areas with a swimming pool and a restaurant. Very good location next to the main road and 15’ walk to a nice and quite beach. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower. There isn't AC but was plenty comfortable enough with a ceiling fan. There is hot running water in the room when you need to have a warm shower although most of the time I took a cool shower. I moved here from one of the 'Hotel Castles by the Sea' that were overcrowded and overpriced for the standard of accommodation there. Kotu Island lodge presents a friendly, personal and quiet atmosphere. You can chat with Terry, the owner who is a very nice man. True Gent! Its only a few minutes walk to the beach and you get the great atmosphere of living in amongst the community. I wholly recommend a stay here. Thak you Terry. You are a great host.

Everything was perfect but there is little chance to come back because of the most boring people in Africa you will meet on street on the sunbeds, on the beach, in the supermarket. Had to take breakfast in sister hotel next door due to Covid cutbacks. It’s just a five minute walk to Kunta Kinteh beach bar which is open till late for dinner; also can arrange nice birdwatching tour at nearby Kotu Creek (Reception can phone the Birdwatchers’ Assn office for you to organise it).
