Breakfast was satisfactory thoughwe would have preferred a greater choice of fruit. This was not unusual. It seems that Italian breakfasts revolve mainly around bread/croissants and cakes!

The location is up high so the views are amazing. There are 2 terraces so it's always possible to have sun and/or shade whenever. Nearby is a pizza restaurant/takeaway that is great! In the village a short downhill walk are great cafes and bars and a Spar and just up from the property is a square with a fabulous, friendly restaurant with great food and a wine shop. Rita who met us and showed us round the property couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful - she solved every problem we encountered. Unfortunately our Italian and her English was limited which was a shame as she was clearly a lovely woman who we would have liked to chat to!!
The property was a good base for Etna Nord and the Alcantara gorge and valley which were both amazing.
Featuring a garden and a balcony, La Rosa dell'Etna is 5 km from the centre of Castiglione di Sicilia. It offers air conditioning, a kitchenette and satellite TV.

Everything! it’s a beautiful and peaceful place. You live in a small cabin in a pretty garden, with views over the surrounding valley. Lots of privacy.
There is a gorgeous pool, that is very clean and well maintained. Perfect for cooling down in the warm weather.
Friendly and helpful owner. Contacted me with directions prior to our stay.
it includes a breakfast with home made cake, biscuits, and cereal. If you want something bigger, you can cook your own in the kitchen. There is a shop a few minutes walk away, that sells cheese, meats, eggs and bread.
it is a very nice restaurant within about 5 min walking distance, and several others in the area that you can drive to.
Good location for wine tasting and golf.
Recommend, and would definitely stay here again!

somewhere between dreams, imagination and hope lie what we are presented with as 'reality'! Castiglione and Donna Denise are closer to the dreams and hopes of this long time traveller. The saying goes;
'a picture is worth a thousand words' Pictures and thousands of words could not come close to describing the visit we made to Castiglione.....no words,....no pictures! Silence and a smile and knowing that I had held the best in my hand if for just a few days!

I had read that this was one of the prettiest towns in Italy. It COULD BE but it currently seems now to be very rundown, with lots of old empty buildings, properties falling down and overall just lacking money and resources. It has some pretty streets and some great views, but overall it does not compare to many other towns in Italy.
On the good side it is not full of tourists like the Amalfi coast towns, or Taormina but it needs more funding for it to become a place worth visiting for more than an hour or so.
The castle has good views and there are a few pretty squares. Parking was tricky as the roads are extremely narrow and no parking showed up on our map!

A great village to stay with plenty to to see around with its narrow winding streets and castle perched at the summit. You are between the foothills of Etna with its diverse landscape and the wonderful Alcantara River with its Gorge and River Park.

It is beautiful old city similar to Toscany cities, located on a hill. It is a bit more neglected than Toscany (Sicilia effect) but still beautifull, with magical climate.
Worthy to walk through the city, visit Castel di Lauria - amazing view, panorama on the city, Etna and sorroundings, Church SS Maria di Catena.
Good Italian cuisine (home made style) in Presidente restaurant and Dispensa del Etna.
It is not easy to drive in Castiglione as it is typical Sicilian city with extremely narrow roads but it is difficult for the first time... than it is like a piece of cake. If you do not want to drive - you can park your car on a parking space - Piazza XI Febrario.

The hilltop town offers spectacular view of the surrounding country side as well as Mount Etna. The town is charming, well conserved and full of historic buildings. There are numerous restaurants and local shops which can cater to all one's needs. On-street parking is not difficult and the town is close to a number of spectacular natural features including Alcantara and Etna.

La Dimora del Castelluccio is not a hotel - it is an experience like no other. Denise is so welcoming, interesting and helpful that she makes you feel completely relaxed in her beautifully designed stylish home like an old returning friend. We simply loved it and will return to stay again if in Sicily. There is so much to like - the stunning views of Etna from the terrace, the wonderful rooms, the different breakfast each day. Staying with Denise is a really special experience.
Dimora Cottanera is a rare find of a hotel. The service is exceptional and cannot be faulted. We informed the staff of our anniversary before arrival - they kindly upgraded us to a room with a private outdoor tub and a beautiful bunch of flowers. The pool has stunning views of the mountains, and the food is unmatched. We particularly enjoyed the “apéritivo hour” and the hotel kindly booked wine tasting and an Etna trek for us.
It's a nice small house under the Etna and near the village of Castiglione di Sicilia and Ancantara river. The river is cca. 5 min. from the place. There is a big garden with swiming pool and a tree house. Kids were super happy. Francesco the owner was fantastic and his wife prepared us a delicious pasta. We had a really great time there and we suggest to everybody visiting these parts of Sicily. Grazzie di tutto Francesco!
This is a beautiful hotel nestled into a working vineyard. The rooms and facilities are very comfortable and there was complimentary wine and water in our room which was a very lovely surprise. The pool, even in early October was delightful but sadly the bar next to the pool was closed during our stay.
An exceptional hotel. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was very clean as was the whole hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was substantial with many options. We strongly recommend staying here.
Very nice and new hotel.
Perfect for who looking a quiet place for a moment of pure relax.
Great Wine &Food typical of the region .
I wish all the best to the Santoro Family for the future , we need more quality hotel like yours in Sicily .
I liked the charm of hotel’s old section. The historical ambiance adds a unique touch to the resort. Room was really clean. Housemaid very friendly and receptionist helpful. Quite nice selection at breakfast buffet.
Serena and the whole team at Dimora are effortlessly exceptional. We stayed two nights and I wish we could’ve been there for at least 4! The hotel is brand new and the property is so calming and relaxing.
Perfect room in an ideal location. Everything was new, very clean and comfortable. A wonderful hotel with a nice view over Etna and the village. Thanks so much for a perfect night.
The staff was incredibly accommodating (helped us via text to locate the hotel, made reservations for us at local restaurants, and provided excellent overall service.
A really great hotel, friendly staff, lovely room, awesome location with great views of Mount Etna
The wine and food was exceptional, the best we had in Sicily.
