Setting the Standard
Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.

Sanur has relaxed vibe with a long shady boardwalk along the beach. The traffic is not crazy like elsewhere but it is not the place if you are seeking a nightlife. Plenty of eateries and without the Seminyak / Canggu chaos.

Sanur is a fantastic area in Bali . It has a vibrant local community feel, but with a Nusa Dusa like beach promenade. The area is ideal for riding push bikes , shopping , wandering around . I am thinking I will come again, and miss staying in Seminyak.

It's a kid friendly, local beach with a lot of places to buy snacks, drinks or even sit down for a meal. There were a lot of dive shops and surf shops along the beach to help you on your adventure as well.

Sanur offers the best bits of Bali without the crowds. The beach is bathed in the morning sun and there are plenty of restaurants along the main road and down side streets and beachfront boardwalk. There are gems of places of find amongst the hotels and back roads. You can get to other places such as Ubud easily from here if you wanted a day trip. Each morning the staff cooked us breakfast (at whatever time we asked for) in our own villa. The breakfast included choices of eggs and bacon with fresh fruits, juice, bread/toast, croissants and tea/coffee * or of the above. We were a short stroll to shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes walk (through one of the other hotels) to Sanur Beach and LOTS more shops and restaurants.

One of the things I particularly liked was the prompt refill of complimentary drinks that were offered. The hotel staff was attentive and ensured that we never ran out of water or coffee. Another aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional housekeeping service. They did an excellent job of making the bed and keeping the room tidy.

Lovely jogolos for cottage accommodation. Good pool.
