The location is great, but since it is a budget accommodation, don't expect anything fancy. Apart from the weak wifi signal in our room, the stay was quite good.

The building itself is gorgeous and feels authentic Minangkabau style. There is a lot of space in the room to move around. The hot shower heats fast and only needs minimal adjustment to find the 'feels just right' temperature setting.

When travelling I prefer to enjoy the place & mix with the people instead of hopping from one place to another spending hours in a car. Eating where they eat & shopping where they shop instead of “touristic” destinations. I walked around from the house to Ngarai Sianok then Jam Gadang. The weather cooperated throughout my stay, but the crowds were packed due to the town 29th anniversary celebrations.
Maybe visiting during mid year instead of monsoon & peak holiday seasons will give more time to enjoy the areas.
The costs are friendly to the wallet & even small food stalls around the areas are delicious & representing the traditional dishes.

Historical, sight seeing, foods and kain sulam (fabric with embroidery).
About weather, Cameron Highland is 3x colder than Bukittinggi.
So ... if I were to make another trip in the future, I'd rather stay longer here while Padang is just a transit.

I like shopping, local food ,the friendly locals and the places of interests with lots of greeneries.
I got to try Nasi Kapau which is a bit similar to Nasi Padang. They are both delicious.
I hired a a car so I got to see more places at my own time and pace and to stop for photo taking anywhere along the way.
To get to places in the city is easy but if you stay further away its better to get on go jek or go car.
The hotel looks new with modern minimalist design. It also feels clean. Too bad we didn’t get the room with Mt. Marapi-Singgalang view.
It is located quite in the middle of Bukittinggi tourist attractions. You can walk to Panorama Ngarai Sianok, Jam Gadang, Pasa Ateh (Upper Market), Fort de Kock and Bukittinggi Zoo.
Good breakfast with traditional options, but it was a bit too crowded when we were there. The space between tables should have been made bigger as we haven’t completely left covid behind yet.
The staff are ok.
A large, modern hotel located on a small street in the center of the tourist town. At the top of the hotel there is a restaurant (a bit expensive) with a panoramic terrace, which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes. Room well equipped, large and comfortable bed, good wifi. Breakfast on the ground floor in a large hall, some tables outside in the courtyard, a large selection of various dishes, both international and local. Staff polite, willing to help.
EVERYTHING!!! The accommodation is soooo beautiful! The room is so comfy and relaxing. The view is so greeny that it's breath-taking and calming. It's also culturally aesthetic - Rumah Gadang! Also, Uni dan Abang there are both helpful and accomodating. Thanks alot. This is my very first time coming back home to Bukittinggi and I'm glad having my 3D2N stay at Padi Ecolodge. It was all pleasant experience.
Beautiful and comfortable rooms in traditional Rumah Gadang style buildings, located in the middle of the rice fields. The location is perfect, very quiet but just outside of Bukittinggi. And the views of the valley are absolutely stunning. The staff are friendly and helpful as well. Jaka is always close by to answer questions or take you on a trip to some of the local sites.
The hotel was excellent for three reasons: location, view, and classic building. Make sure to book the room with mountain view to get the best of it. Service was excellent. The only downside was the room was rather old and there was a problem with the wastafel. But the staff worked on it real quick. Food was average but the restaurant vibe was excellent.
Wonderful view & surroundings
Very kind staff who stayed up to check us in even at 4:30 in the morning after our long bus ride from Bukittinggi
We did a day tour with Roni by motorbike, learning how they make dadiah, visiting the market, coffee etc. It was one of the best days of our 3 month indonesia trip!!
Cosy beds & very nice stay!
Delicious food!
Everything, but the hospitality of Ibu (the owner), Bapak and Ibu Dewi (the house carer) was tremendous. They treated us not like guests but as friends. The location is just perfect, surrounded by the hills, rice fields and some local tourist spots. To cut the long story short, our stay was perfect! 😀
Really nice guesthouse with very friendly staff. They helped us to fix the motorbike. Delicious breakfast. Common living room in the different guesthouses, perfect for relaxing and chilling. There is even a little swimming pool with a nice view on Bukittinggi and it's surrounding mountains.
Good location, easy to find food, next to city centre and main attraction .Staff are nice and helpfull
Room is spacious, compy bed, clean towel, clean bathroom. although no breakfast but we have a free coffee and tea at any time. Overall we are satisfied stay in this hotel
Great place to stay in Bukittinggi. Comfortable rooms, hot showers, free tea, coffee and water and a nice rooftop as well. Bayu who works at reception speaks great English and went above and beyond to help me during my stay with any questions I had.
Big room, nice bedroom, nice view, nice staff and easy late check-in at midnight as i need to travel from Padang to Bukittinggi around 3 hours. Near Jam Gadang. Breakfast is delicious and cozy atmosphere at the cafe.
The price!! Water refill, warm showers. Clean. It is ok as a cheap hostel but the noise really was immense at times. The hotel obviously can't be held responsible for individual travellers but the paper thin walls...
The house is pretty close to lubang jepang and ngarai sianok, very strategic place to stay so that we didn't use vehicle during our stay in bukittinggi that much. The ambience is feels like we were in hometown
The location is very good, walking distance to Jam Gedung, center of the Bukittingi. The hotel is clean and the room was cozy, The most of the staff except one (mentioned below9 were very kind and good.
The room is spacious, the hotel is walking distance to Jam Gadang and tourist attractions, shopping areas and eateries. The receptionist was also helpful and very attentive to customer.
