Didn't get to experience much except casinos due to the time of year we visited. A lot of places were closed. The town in a typical tourist town, can't really see much of the history the place holds.

My husband and I love Deadwood and have made more than 20 trips in the last 10 years. Lots to do in the area including visits to different museums, hiking, ghost tours, shopping, wine tasting, great food, and gambling. There is still a lot that we have not seen and done, which keeps us making the 10 hour drive 2 times a year.

We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned.
We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned. Some businesses and shops were closed and the sidewalks never got shoveled and were very slippery. Everyone that we met was friendly and fun. There was a lot to do and see, next time we'll stay longer. We'll be back as soon as we can, but in the fall rather than winter.

Lots of fun things to do and see.
Lots of fun things to do and see. Reenactments going on everyday on the main strip. The local saloons were great and filled with great atmosphere! We did not have enough time to do any tours as we were only there one night but we would come back to explore. We happened to walk into an outdoor concert that was awesome! It was very easy to get around on the local bus that travels by the hotels. We went to get some coffee in the morning at the Pumphouse which was filled with beautiful locally made glass art. It is worth a quick stop!

Staff were nice especially Broadmoor.
Hotel was not very clean.
You had to go into the CASINO for breakfast - not appropriate for children.
Everyone in the casino could see you in the swimming pool - creepy experience.
Signs up everywhere in case you stole something! Nothing worth stealing.
Lobby so small.
Hotel was a good walk outside of Deadwood.

Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin.
Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin. Excellent food. Gambled at Mr. Wu's where they have free hotdogs, drinks and popcorn for players. We were there on a Tuesday night so the town was very quiet. Prefer to go when there are more people having fun.
An old school hotel that has been decently maintained by the current owner/staff. Reasonable sound proofing to avoid the motorcycle/car traffic on what is the main route to Lead, SD. While we did not go to the restaurant, it appeared to be an orderly, clean local place that served decently priced fare. Would recommend for those that are coming to the area for DUNE work in Lead, SD for brief or week long stays.
everything! we are Hilton fans and we had not stayed at a tru previously. the facility was great. clean and modern with everything you need. staff was great. friendly and helpful. location was perfect. easy walking distance from downtown Deadwood. used the coupons. parking fee was annoying. should have been clearly stated on booking.
Hotel is newly renovated, clean, modern and on the end of downtown Deadwood. YOu will never be disappointed staying here as they have great food options, a great free breakfast, and the rooms and casino are clean. Make sure to reserve a table at Snitches for a dinner at one of the best new restaurants in Deadwood!
It is a historic hotel and is furnished that way, very quaint. Owner spent some time with us at check in explaining things and showing us different things about the hotel, very personable. Hotel is right downtown, close to all the shops, restaurants and sights.
I loved the historic atmosphere of this hotel. The in-house pizza restaurant was fabulous. The owner made sure everything was to our liking. House blend fresh ground coffee and donuts on Saturday are a great touch.
Quiet, clean and comfortable beds
The view from the deck is amazing
Boston Pizza is only a few steps away from the hotel
I don't gamble but lots of machines for those that do and free alcohol if you are gambling
The location was great, it was a short distance by trolley to downtown. It was quiet and relaxing. Room was extremely clean. The owner really has a feel for what guests there want.
This is one of the most luxurious and unique properties I have stayed at in downtown Deadwood. My wife and I travel to Deadwood several times a year and this hotel is quite the gem!
The room had a good atmosphere and the old pictures were a nice touch. Was real nice to get a lift from the parking lot to the hotel and back. It was a pleasure talking with Ivan!!!
A big room with a great view. The location is central to a lot of the attractions in downtown deadwood, right across from the outlaw square. The late night pizza is wonderful.
We feel lucky ! Deadwood downtown within a 10 minute walk. Amazing hosts. Yummy homemade sour dough bread every day breakfasts. All the guidance you need for a great trip !
