NOPSI Hotel New Orleans, hotel in New Orleans

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, NOPSI Hotel, New Orleans offers pet-friendly accommodation within walking distance of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Actually not sure if this request is a joke. I booked and paid for an alternative hotel due to me finding out weeks after I paid for this hotel that the 'open all year round' pool was closed - neither me, booking.com or some very kind staff at other hotels in America could get this hotel to answer emails or their phone.

Quarter House Suites, hotel in New Orleans

Offering free WiFi and an outdoor pool, Quarter House Suites is located in New Orleans, 400 metres from Bourbon Street. St Louis Cathedral is 700 metres away.

Great location. Walking distance to everything you would want to see in the French Quarter. Close to Bourbon Street but away from the noise. One of the few 2 bedroom, 2 bath hotels in that area that also had two king beds, and a pullout sofa. Our suite had 3 large flat screen tvs. There is a pretty courtyard with a small pool (4 t o 5 ft deep only) no lounge chairs, just some small wrought iron tables and chairs, but it is nice for a quick dip to cool off after walking around in the humidity and heat of the city.

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, in the heart of the Deep South, the ‘Big Easy’ is being regenerated in the wake of devastating hurricane Katrina.

One area relatively unscathed was Bourbon Street – where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars interspersed by others offering more colourful nightlife. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by the Disney-esque St Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD skyscrapers and beside them is the huge Louisiana Superdome sports venue. Booking.com has several hotels near the Superdome, including some on Canal Street – a historic road where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou – the typical wetlands of the state.

We stayed in the French Quater, which was perfect. I really enjoyed the steam boat trip and the Oak Alley plantation. We did do the plantation ourselves and the Steam Boat as it is cheaper to do online.

NOLA comes with superb french district night-out.

NOLA comes with superb french district night-out. Restaurants and clubs are chock-full with jazz bands all night long. Prices aren't economical, but it's worth spending few nights in the vintage district as it is like taking a journey to the past with timeless architectural features. Don't miss out a daily tour in the swamp just reasonable miles off the city or a plantation tour. Both come with impressive natural flora and fauna as well as awareness of recent history raising plenty of questions.

    In-town for Jazz Festival (May 2-7, 2024).

In-town for Jazz Festival (May 2-7, 2024). Highly recommend this event. Enjoyed NOLA overall. Felt safe and comfortable at all hours of day and night. Friendly people. Good southern hospitality. The French Quarter has a lot to offer. Almost continuous music by world-class musicians both on the street and inside venues. Frenchman's Street is a good music destination, in many ways better than Bourbon Street. Most venues have no cover-charge. Jackson Square is very historic and well maintained, as is the RC Cathedral at the square. Countless excellent restaurants. City is very walkable and fairly easy to get around in. Washington Square and Armstrong Park are both nice quiet and safe refuges from the hustle and action of the Quarter.

    Something for everyone.

Something for everyone. This was a friends trip with six of us, so various interests. Walking tours, Art Museum, Bourbon Street at night, Plantation and Swamp tours. We stayed in Mid City, so quiet and only three blocks from streetcar (which was easy to use) stop to the French Quarter.

The staff was the friendliest ever. The room and entire hotel were so clean. Bed was super comfortable. I loved the chandeliers, the hardwood floors, and the art. The full-sized bathtub was a huge hit with me. I took a hot relaxing bath every night after walking miles in the Quarter. The location on the most beautiful street in the French Quarter is perfect...literally a few steps from Jackson Square. We have stayed at many establishments during our many trips to New Orleans, but this hotel will be our pick from now on.

WG Creole House is an absolutely wonderful place to stay: beautifully appointed, meticulously clean, and conveniently located, within walking distance of downtown, the convention center, Canal Street, and the French Quarter. Melissa is a wonderfully friendly innkeeper who is passionate about her city and wants all her guests to experience the best of New Orleans, including experiences and dining to be had off the beaten path. This place will be our go-to for all future visits to the Crescent City!

The property is in a very central location, making it easy to get to the French quarter or the Garden District by foot. The staff were extremely friendly and the units themselves were very nice and clean! Being able to use a code for our unit was a big plus so we didn’t have to deal with a physical key for such a large group. All of our rooms had a bag of coffee which was a nice touch for the mornings, but there is a very good coffee shop right next to the hotel - Cafe Bon Ami.

My room was very spacious, modern and comfortable and both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The location on Canal street is on the edge of the French Quarter in a quieter area but the popular (and noisy) bars and restaurants are only a few blocks away. There is a streetcar stop outside the hotel so it is easy to get around. You have to request room servicing the night before. I actually preferred this since it avoids being disturbed when you don't need the room cleaned.

The location, staff, breakfast and facility are the best. All the staff are very friendly and ready to help with anything. The room was very spacious with a kitchenette. The hot breakfast was very generous. check-in and check out was quick. If you plan to take a cruise, the location is the best for both walking distance to the French Quarter and walking distance to the cruise port. It is in a very safe and quiet area. One the best hotels that we have ever stayed.

Andy at the front desk is fabulous. She is full of information in adventures as well as the history of the house and New Orleans. The location was excellent. 1 block from cable cars in between the Garden District and French Quarters. Food nearby & a drug store. The main house was nice. The parking is a lot right next door, which makes it easy. The lot is light up at night with a security camera.

The location was great for visiting the best spots in New Orleans, just a short drive or ferry ride and you're right in the heart of the French Quarter. The house itself just exudes that feeling of Mardi Gras and the history of the area. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive, giving us a rundown of the neighborhood and making sure any needs were met. Definitely would stay again.

Overall, our stay was ok. The New Orleans Marriott is quite perfectly located in NOLA, so we opted for this hotel. The price for our stay was rather high (>300$pPpN), but we were willing to pay it. Our room was big, clean, and overall good. Our room was facing the other tower, so we mainly looked at the other building, but were also able to see a bit of the French Quarter.

We had to quickly rebook to this hotel when our previous hotel had a $150 non-refundable pet fee. This hotel only $25. Walkable to French Quarter, super helpful staff, nice rooms, decent breakfast, and parking $20 at nearby garage. For a downtown hotel, it was a reasonable option. The air conditioning seemed to be either really cold or not cold enough, but we made due.

The location of this hotel is perfect. We attended the Sugarbowl and the hotel was in comfortable walking distance from the stadium, the riverfront, French Quarter, etc. There is an awesome breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet as well. This was our second stay at Drury and we will continue to choose this hotel when visiting New Orleans.
