Staff is very nice and super friendly. Due to some booking problems we did not get the room reserved, but we were getting a similar room. Rooms were renovated and in a better shape than the outside. Room was very quite despite the location next to the highway.
Restaurant was very good, plenty of food

The gateway to Wells Grey Park, Clearwater is a great base camp to explore the numerous waterfalls, river rafting adventures, fishing spots and hiking/biking in the surrounding area. The people have always been friendly and welcoming with my countless visits and the scenery spectacular. Helmcken Falls is a major highlight in Wells Grey Park. Check in at the visitor center to really get a grasp of everything this place has to offer! The main town has good amenities for food, groceries, gas and more. Definitely worth a visit.

Waterfalls in nearby Regional Park ( I think there were 4 of them to see. All were beautiful on their own. Only one needed like 1-hour + hike, rest were closer to the road. Can be seen in half a day easily, before you need to continue driving East or West.

Wells Gray Provincial Park.
Wells Gray Provincial Park. Beautiful scenery full of gorgeous waterfalls, lakes, rivers and creeks. We had breakfast in the Blue Grouse Inn where we stayed and we dined out in Clearwater for our other meals. This Inn is close to most of the key waterfalls. Clearwater is very easy to get around by car. There are numerous activities like rafting, canoeing, etc that you can do. Information centre is very helpful. We even went to my first ever rodeo in nearby Barriere.

Clearwater has everything you need along the #5: groceries,...
Clearwater has everything you need along the #5: groceries, gas , a few restaurants but is not the reason to go here. Go for the hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and camping in Wells Gray Park and Myrtle Lake but be prepared for hot weather along with mosquitoes and black flies in the summer. Dutch Lake is beautiful warm swimming lake just off the #5 with a lovely sand and grassy public beach with wharf and swings for young children.
Our favourite was Yulki at reception who went out of her way to make our stay a happy one (i hope i spelled her name correctly). Hotel is recently renovated and clean. Comfy beds. Perfect for our one night there. There was a small kitchenette for us to enjoy a simple supper and a breakfast on the balcony. Lovely lake with little beach for a swim. Great grocery store nearby as well as several restaurants. Although the highway is close, we enjoyed being a little away from it as i think the other hotels in town would have more road noise.
The couple that ran their motel were great. Very friendly, exceptional customer service. The motel and room although older, was very clean and well maintained. The fabric shades on the rooms large window were a fantastic addition - allowing lots of light during daytime but offering privacy. The larger 5 cup coffee pot in the room was exceptional for a motel / hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. Being able to park right outside your room was terrific.
The rooms were recently remodeled and very clean. There were personal touches in the room: juice and bottled water in the fridge, a quality Nepresso coffee maker and a welcome note. We did not hear traffic as it was a bit off the highway. This also made it feel more secure. Hotels are hit and miss in smaller rural areas, and I do not expect the same quality as in a major urban area. This hotel exceeded our expectations for not being in a metro area.
Tents are luxury as described.
Bed was extremely comfortable and hot blanket was heaven and took away any risk of being cold in bed despite cool wet weather outside
Tent was massive so loads of space for table to eat at, side table for cafetiere etc, chairs inside and on deck
Reception staff very helpful with ideas of things to do up the valley from Clearwater
Very peaceful in woods
BBQ is big and so excellent food produced by us for supper
Sauna
The unit is old but it was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It is located directly on the lake, with easy access to the public beach, which is super convenient. We had a separate room for the kids (each with their own bed) and a room for the parents. Large kitchen table, great to enjoy take out from a nearby BBQ place. We had fans and could open windows to create an air flow. Full-sized fridge and a couch.
The location is convenient- not far from the highway and not too close. There’s a nice little food truck that’s part of the motel. The whole complex is pet friendly, which is a bonus. This is definitely a family oriented place with a public beach right beside it. It’s bustling and busy.
Excellent quality very large rooms, the hotel must be fairly new as everything was finished to a high standard
Great value for money
A bit of a surprise really, we were not expecting much and were just staying for 1 night while passing through
The room was clean and stocked with the basics. Parking was convenient and location was fine. The room was peaceful and quiet even though it’s near the road. Parts of the room like the bathroom had been updated.
Perfect stay in Clearwater! We really enjoyed our stay with Doris and she learned us so much about the Canadian history. Super authentic and warm host. Would recommend to everyone!
Great location - up the road from Clearwater towards Wells Gray Park. Close to lots of walks and waterfalls. Cozy cabins. Very comfortable. Good kitchen facilities and good WiFi.
This is a good place to break a long trip between Edmonton and Vancouver. The hotel is close to the highway and well appointed. It was a comfortable room.
