Staff was very friendly and attentive. Note that the reception is not manned after a certain time (e.g. 9pm on weekdays) so you need a machine to check in if you arrive later (easy to use). Views were good and the size of the room was nice and the beds were comfortable.

The City of Smiles, Århus (or Aarhus as it’s now officially known) has been around longer than any other Scandinavian city, so has had plenty of time to accumulate attractions and eateries. Its vibrant music scene and nightlife are popular with Denmark’s largest student population, and the University Park features the excellent Steno Museum and Natural History Museum.
Weird and wonderful artworks adorn the multi-coloured ARoS museum, and artefacts in the Viking Museum are on the site where they were discovered, alongside copies of exhibits from the Moesgård Museum, located in a forest south of the city centre (closed until 2014). At the heart of the neighbouring park is Marselisborg Palace, the Danish monarch’s summer residence.
The botanical gardens are opposite the Old Town, which is not actually the historic centre but rather a colourful collection of half-timbered buildings from all over Denmark, set around a pond.
Shops and pavement cafes line the Aarhus River which enters the sea by the large port which has contributed significantly to the city’s success. Overlooking it are the ultra-modern Isbjerget apartments, resembling peaks of icebergs. Also innovatively designed is the Modernist town hall, and Aarhus Cathedral has the country’s tallest spire and longest nave.
Booking.com’s accommodation options range from beachfront hotels to cheap hostels and apartments near Aarhus Airport.
My first time in Denmark and it was beautiful. A lot of new building projects. A lot of shops and restaurants. A lot of museums. Den Gamble By definitely worth visiting, because there are a lot of museums and you feel like a lot of years ago. Botanical garden is for free, a lot of beautiful plants.

Not as much to do in Aarhus proper, but if you had the means to travel outside there was more to see. Not as visitor friendly as other Danish cities we visited. One full day was enough for the city proper to meander around. Be careful of where you eat, because some of the smorrebord menus were simply fried fish (from their fish and chips menu) on a large piece of bread or soggy chicken salad. Not the Danish versions you might be looking for.

Confusing town plan. Lost my sense of direction frequently.
Confusing town plan. Lost my sense of direction frequently.
Great range reasonable eating places. Friendly service. Flexible menus.
The art gallery was a bit strange. Not much of a B collection for an experienced art lover in other European cities. The shop there was well stocked and presented

Best nature around this city. Very underrated.
Best nature around this city. Very underrated. Totally worth to come check for its city centre, the restaurants, the cafes, the new building with interesting designs, and of course, the forests and the parks
The fabulous location close to the port, to Dokk1 cultural center and 5 minutes walk to the city center where you can find several restaurants, bars, stores, supermarkets. It is a very nice walk along river Aarhus canal. To arrive to the train station is about 15 minutes walk. The hotel is in a building overlooking the port area and my room was in the 9th floor, a big room with balcony with a nice view. Room very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is served in the 10th floor with nice panorama over the city and is a very good buffet
The location is excellent, near to the train station and within short walks of all the really interesting bits Aarhus has on offer. The staff are first rate as are the rooms. I particularly like all the old bits in the window hardware - hooks, latches and catches. They’re all “old style” European and invoke a different age of travel and adventure. First rate!
We enjoyed our visit at the wakeup hotel Aarhus. The Person on the Receptation had been very friendly. The Atmosphere is nice, the Hotel looks modern and has also a cozy Place where you can sit. The Hotelroom looks also modern and friendly. If we are in Aarhus and we are needing a Hotel, we would visit this Hotel again.
The hotel is outside the city of Aarhus in an office/industrial area, but close to a train station. The train brings you in about 10 minutes to the center. By car is takes about the same time. It is easy to park, the hotel is clean and modern. There is a small gym. Breakfast is simple with limited choice of food.
Quiet, clean, facility was well equipped with every kitchen utensil and item you’d ever need for cooking full meals. There was ab excellent breakfast included in room charge. The facility was very near the tram which runs frequently to and from Aarhus Central.
Great location and spacious after hotel rooms. Has washer and dryer. Located in marina area of Aarhus serviced by a bus. The complex contains on ground level an inside street food court and large supermarket so everything is on hand. Other restaurants nearby.
Great location in the city center, easy to walk. Very friendly staff. Parking (paid) in front of the hotel. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and well-equipped bathroom.
Breakfast had an ample selection and was excellent, as you mostly expect in the Nordics.
The staff at the front desk was so friendly and helpful! We only had one night in Aarhus, unfortunately, and she suggested a good walking route to find great music and sights from the Aarhus festival.
Fantastic location, 3 minutes walk to Aarhus main station.
Kind receptionists, very accommodating.
Good breakfast and restaurant.
The hotel itself has a lot of character.
Comfortable bed.
The decor in the hotel is fantastic. Very modern outstanding bar. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The location is excellent. Close to the Aarhus food market which is a must-see
So location is amazing. You right in the heart of Aarhus city center and can walk to everything. So many places to eat and drink. Great town and super friendly staff.
