We stayed there as our son and partner where attending a wedding in Montrose we used it as a base , 20 mins from Arbroath lovely Cushing town selling the famous smokie everywhere, history in the lighthouse signal museum was good. We then travelled to Broughty Ferry, lovely promenade to walk all along, little boutique shops, castle, plenty restaurants and fish and chip shop
The Limes Guest house was in a convenient location - under 10 mins walking from Montrose train station. I was greeted by a lovely owner, Jen who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and helped to ensure I had an enjoyable stay throughout my time in town. Having stayed at the chain hotel a few nights before and breakfast being pretty average - I was genuinely surprised with the amazing breakfast standard Jen has offered - make sure you'll order yours, will not regret it!
Kristy (I believe that was our hostess’s name) was absolutely lovely and so gracious. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed so comfortable. breakfast was cooked to order and so reasonable. the property itself is so beautiful, and very homey — not like a museum. The gardens outside are so pretty and there’s a little reading/relaxing sunroom in it, for guests. Montrose is a “real” town, not a tourist town, but it is close to much to do!
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and always available. The breakfast was very good, and the rooms were very modern and attractive, whilst the public areas of the hotel were charmingly traditional. The beach was just across a short area of the golf links. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
wonderful views from every window beautiful hotel lovely friend helpful owners we came back from dinner and Barry was happy to serve us wine at 1030 pm delicious refresh breakfast. it is not clear on the site this hotel has a bar and serves evening meals at request could not recommend this hotel more
This is a very old hotel adjacent to a golf course founded in 1532!! The hotel has been "modernized" within the past few years. But things like detached (but private) bathrooms still exist. The antique furnishings in the lobby and common areas are exceptional.
The room at check in was clean, and spacious . We were unable to connect to the Wi-Fi , the restaurant was full as was the hotel so I guess there were too many people connected at once , by Sunday when there were less people we both connected automatically
Full British breakfast is served every day, It could do with some variety if you stay longer but plenty of options around the corner (Gregs, SubWay), cereals and jam for kids.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, what was most important for us dog-friendly hotel!
The breakfast was excellent. If you stay at the hotel then you get a discount off the green fees at Montrose Links course. The hotel owner made us aware of this during our stay. Our room was nice, but there are rooms that overlook the golf course too.
A great property right in the middle of Montrose. The photos don't do it justice, absolutely loved our stay for a family wedding.
Spotless, comfortable beds and everything you need for a few days away.
Great location near the centre of Montrose so it was easy to get to restaurants, shops, etc. Parking was readily available and free.
The flat is very spacious with all the amenities we required.
A well appointed hotel with nice rooms and a good quality room in a quiet area of the pleasant town of Montrose looking over the park.
Good quality friendly staff and a decent restaurant
Fabulous hotel, lovely to have a bed and bowls for my four-legged companion.
The restaurant was excellent and the portion sizes were amazing.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Liked the hotel was close to center of town. Breakfast not up to our expectations. However, dinner was excellent. Our waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful.
It was a lovely warm hotel, located in the centre of Montrose. The staff were kind and attentive. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The Receptionists were brilliant!!!
Welcoming, friendly, accommodating and generous. Very comfortable room, and excellent breakfast. Would go to montrose just for a stay at the hermitage.
