Locals friendly but with a strong Welsh pride. Take cash !!! The village pubs and limited eateries only take cash, it was like going back in time. Town is ran down but it has bags of potential with zipworld and Snowdonia on the doorstep.

Bethesda town isn't exactly brimming over with cosy gastro pubs. However, as a base for walks, for Zipworld, for short drives to other towns, it's absolutely idyllic. Find yourself a good place to stay, be ready either to cook for yourself or to go to a neighbouring town for restaurants, and enjoy the countryside! It's beautiful, and it's not spoilt in the way that Betws-y-Coed has been.

We stayed to do the Velocity2 at ZipWorld and were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met in the village. It was a shame to have to leave so soon so we will be going back again. We were visiting out of season so the local Hotel and Restaurant wasn't serving food but there were plenty of takeaways and there's a small Tesco for supplies.

Didn't really get to look around the village much, but what I saw of it was nice. We were there for activities in the surrounding countryside which really great. we went to zip world which is (expensive but) definitely worth experiencing one time. We also had walks in the local area. We were able to do ordinary food shopping in the village and find some good restaurants in Bangor which is just 15 minutes up the road. We liked it and would definitely stay there again because there is plenty to do in the area.

Very good location to use as a base for many trips out. local pub in Rachub just down the road was very good.Plenty of choice for eating (Takeaway) good local amenities.Bethesda is close to many seaside places 20 mins to Snowdon. Down side was the condition of the roads in Rachub.

Lovely little village with lots of shops but the opening hours seem to be very brief! e.g. there are only two places to eat in the evening and one of them wasn't doing food that day! The other had stopped serving at 7 pm. There are plenty of takeaways though and a Tesco express. Quiet place very close to beautiful walks through lovely woodland and rivers/streams. Very close to the zipwire which we unfortunately didn't have time to experience.

A lovely apartment to stay in! Free parking, and Netflix was a bonus! There are all the amenities in the area i needed too. There is a "well known" shop a few minutes walk (open 6am until 11pm) for your groceries including the food to put in the fridge / freezer. Bethesda has stunning views around it and Llanberis is a short drive away. The Slate museum there is worth a visit. I also met Ben who owns the apartments and was extremely helpful and friendly. A great place!

The apartment had everything we wanted for a short stay and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely sound of the river coming in from outside the peaceful living room. Bethesda has some nice eating places, pubs and a wholefood shop as well, all run by kind and friendly people. Parking very convenient and bus-stop outside! Lovely walks through the woods (and a small playground) on the other side of the river, over the footbridge a few minutes walk away.

Beautiful location with a hot tub overlooking the falls. The pictures match very well for what you can expect. Very easy to check in, met staff at the hotel restaurant as we were later checking in. All ran smoothly and they were very friendly.
