The hotel is unique and in a quiet location with serene views. It is close to the main tourist hub and we could get to the station easily. I loved the decor, and the rooms were tasteful, a modern twist to the traditional Japanese-Style rooms. You can bring our own food and comfortably get settled anywhere in the common areas. The staff are very welcoming and managed well as they have thought of everything a traveller needs. The bed was soooo comfy too, which we needed after a long haul flight. 100% would recommend this hotel and it was good value for money!

Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable!
The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for.
The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely.
Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

We visited quite a few places during our two week stay in Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto and then we took a two day bike ride from Imabari to Onomichi). Nikko was the most beautiful of the beautiful places we visited. Took a bus ride up the hill and hiked in the forest which boasts two types of bear, deer and monkeys. The temple was beautiful and we enjoyed trying local food. We each had a "Yuba set" at a local restaurant.

The rooms were freezing cold no heating and it was -5 inside the hotel. They provided us with one thin blanket nothing like advertised, the windows were open and unable to close. We are having to seek medical help as one of my friends has developed hypothermia. No food no drink and the toilet facility does not flush.
Said in advert the beds would be made up for us. After a vicious scolding by the owners wife we had to awkwardly make up our own beds with no instructions at all.
If you like being shouted at, sleeping on a solid cold floor with a stone for a pillow this is definitely the place for you.
Didn't really wanna even give the one star but no choice for 0*.

Nikko is a lovely small place. The local Chinese on the high street has amazing food, it has a very small door and would be easy to miss, but make the effort to find it.
The temples are amazing, but I loved the mountains, if you like trekking then you will love Nikko.

Fabulous place to visit with the right balance between nature walks and temple and shrine visits. Our favorite visits were Toshogu and Rinno-ji Temples, a day trip to Chuzenji Lake and Kegon Falls with a walk towards the Italian and English Embassy residences was beautiful. If you still have time, the Imperial Tomozawa Villa is worth spending a couple of hours at. We did everything by bus and it was very well organised. Train station has convenient coin lockers for luggage and a Yamato counter to deliver your luggage at your hotel so you can start visiting without being troubled.

i loved the variety of hiking trails - there was no shortage of beautiful nature. there are populated trails and quieter trails, and the bus service was very convenient once i got the hang of it. while the shrines were pretty enough, i preferred the rinnoji shrine gardens and would have preferred to spend more time hiking instead of fighting with the crowds at toshugu shrine. senjogahara was stunning and i would have liked to spend more time at the yumoto and kirifuri trails.
october was a little early for autumn leaves, so maybe i will return later in the year next time. that said, it was a pity i just missed the shrine festival this year!
Centrally located right at the train station, it’s an ideal spot for the local exploration, with access to all public transport connected to your Nikko Pass. It’s a clean, cozy hotel, definitely best in the neighborhood. Offers comfortable, warm rooms, great breakfast buffet with both Japanese and Western options. We were happy to use the cute onsen from the hotel, the opening hours are long and you can even walk in with the tattoos, so that’s perfect. Beds are comfy, AC works perfectly too.
Firstly the location is very good, convenient, very closed to tobu-nikko train station and easy to find. The hotel staffs are so friendly and able to communicate in English well. Room provided with sufficient facilities. Hotel offered complimentary breakfast which serving rice with Japanese style curry, some side dishes and miso soup. Vegetarian friendly coz the curry based is vegetables. Also have toast, margarine and jam. Orange juice, tea and coffee. Nearby hotel, has big supermarket.
Location was convenient, a short walk from Tobu-Nikko Station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel itself feels fairly modern. Room was clean and fairly well sized, features were also pretty adequate. Breakfast was delightful, quite a few choices and is a great start to the day. Bus station's closeby and there's also quite a number of car rental options, great to get around Nikko to sightsee. There's also a fairly large supermarket nearby so that was great! Positive experience overall.
My stay at Ritz Carlton Nikko was simply fantastic. Put a tremendously passionate, dedicated group of people through a world-class Ritz Carlton hospitality training program and you get service that's nothing short of perfection. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, it's facilities (both spa and public onsen) were amazing, and food was thoughtful, delicious, and wholesome. My wife and I could not have asked for more and yearn to be back in the, hopefully, near future.
My wife and I stayed one night in the Inn in April 2023 at the time of the spring festival in Nikko. The hosts were flexible and kind as can be. The evening and breakfast meals were excellent. The room was a good mixture of western comfort and Japanese style. I had one of the two onsen baths, the one overlooking the forest, all to myself in the evening. The owner gave us a ride to the train station when we departed. All in all an excellent, comfortable place to stay.
the location of the hotel is great. facing lake chuzenji and beautiful red tori gate makes the perfect scenery. we were so lucky to have sunset time and taking many pics with every angle of the lake.
all japanese concept like tatami room with futon bed, indoor/outdoor onsen, included set japanese breakfast and diner, free of charge massage chair, hanging around with yukatas in the property, very organized management team and staff are all highligts!!!
Onsens were beautiful. location is amazing. they provide a once daily free shuttle to and from the hotel and Nikko station. traditional Japanese meals were provided - I was vegan and they accommodated for that. Room was large and atmosphere was serene. Saw monkeys whilst I was in the onsen, had the onsen all to myself one morning. beautiful. staff don’t speak much English but provide friendly service all the same.
Our stay was wonderful. While the town itself is not exactly bustling, the hotel was excellent and easily accessible to nearby Nikko world heritage sites and hikes. The breakfast and dinner buffets were unbelievably wonderful filled with high quality Japanese delights. The rooftop onsen was gorgeous and updated. Our Japanese- style room was lovely and spacious. Highly recommend!
This was the best stay we had in Japan, and we stayed at the Hilton in Tokyo for comparison. Izumi-San is a wonderful host. He was exceptionally helpful in helping us understand the bus system and picked us up and dropped us off at Tobu- Nikko railway station. The rooms are Japanese style and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!
We had a delightful two-night stay at the hotel where the staff warmly welcomed us, making us feel right at home. The food was exceptional, and we would enthusiastically suggest this hotel for a refreshing getaway from city life.
Accessing the hotel from Nikko station was straightforward, and it boasts a splendid view of Chuzenji Lake.
This was the best hotel I stayed in on my 3-week trip to Japan. Beautiful location for Ukonikko. The onsen was great and every evening there was free sake and snacks. The communal room was excellent. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The breakfast on both mornings was fantastic! Highly recommended!
Loved this hotel!! Wonderful Atmosphere! The hotel is surrounded by mountains and is in close proximity by car to the touristic sites in Nikko. Room was excellent, very new, clean and specious! Customer's service is very good and you have complementary coffee and Tea 24 hours. Will definitely come back!
While a little out of town Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side was in a much more natural setting than a town hotel. Their communal area with a fireplace and comfy sofas worked very well for our large family group. The staff bent over backwards to help us and ensure we enjoyed our time in Nikko.
This part of our trip through Japan was the unexpected highlight of the whole vacation. Nikko is quaint and beautiful and the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. We had such a great time! The staff were very accommodating and kind to our kids as well.
This hotel is very convenient when exploring the Nikko area, as it is walking distance from the temples and very close for buses to the Lake Chuzenji area.
The capsul room is like a mini private room, so you have your own personal space.
The location is very conviently located in center of all the tourist attractions and downtown Nikko. Super friendly staff and very convenient to walk around without having to look for paid parking since parking is free at the hotel.
Very confortable hotel - 25 mn from Nikko shrines but well worth the distance. Food is very good. Great onsen. Staff was very nice, despite not so good english.
I love the style of hotel Japanese vintage. They concerns the things we requested that I appreciate. I didn’t eat beef they rearranged the meal without beef.
The Hotel Marriott at Nikko was delightful in every way, lovely design in the rooms, the lobby etc. The rooms had lots of space and the shower was excellent!
