We loved the host, he was very attentive and answered all the questions we had. The room was very clean and spacious with a working kettle and bath/shower. The outside may make you a bit questionable but the inside is lovely. It has so much personality to it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and well maintained and is an excellent base to explore the area.
This is a fascinating little village. There is a shop of some kind around every corner (but it does mean you have to explore a lot to find everything!). It has a bizarre one-way system (do NOT DRIVE THE WRONG WAY TO THE HOTEL!). The sustainable produce shop just around the corner from the hotel was fascinating - and even sell products in hand-luggage sizes!

The Palace and the Roman ruins are worth a trip to this small and otherwise typical town; and Casa de Estoi is the loveliest place I stayed in over a two week trip throughout Portugal, with one exception. The host Jose is delightful!

Estoi is a lovely little town.
Estoi is a lovely little town. Please DO NOT GO TO OLHAO though - the police are corrupt and target tourists vehicles. They only clamp hire cars and leave the locals alone, they are a disgrace to the country! The town hall worker (in Olhao) stands about all day and hands ready made maps to tourist to show them where to pay the fines. I will never return to Portugal until these corrupt officials are removed!

The town of Estói is lovely with beautiful walks down the narrow lanes off the Church square. There are cafes, bars and shops. It is possible to walk into the local hills from the town where there are lovely views. There is easy road access to Faro, Olhão, Tavira and other coastal towns all with a great choice and range of restaurants, bars and beautiful buildings. The train along the coast is a great trip. There are ferries from Faro and Olhão to some lovely islands 20 to 30 minutes away. The apartment we stayed in - Estoi Terraces was excellent, spacious and comfy with a lovely outdoor area. Easy parking outside the block. The owner was really friendly and helpful and easy to contact.

There are few shops and only one restaurant.
There are few shops and only one restaurant. There are just two things to see- the palace which is now a hotel and it is not open to non-guests and the Roman site which is interesting. A day visit is sufficient to see both if they are open. Walking in the area was not comfortable.
This is a most comfortable hotel and has a great mix of rococo architecture and modern, enormous bedrooms, each with a really private terrace. The staff are very well trained, friendly and accommodating. The views are magnificent down to the coast around Faro and dinner on the dining terrace at sunset is a great experience. The pool is enormous and extremely clean. The gardens are fun too with recent and ancient planting and statuary. Parking outside or underground (lift) was safe and easy.
This hotel was indeed luxurious, beautiful and stunning. The view alone blows your breath away. The staff were amazing. The people there we very friendly. It is in a weird location but it's safe and comfortable. The Gardens there were gorgeous. You get 3 experiences in 1 history luxury and royalty. The food was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend. I went for my birthday with my partner and child, but there was a variety of age groups there. The staff did make it extra special.
Wonderful breakfasts! An idyllic very rural setting with great views. Delightful hosts who run a an exceptional small quinta hotel Loved the pool, the gardens, the superb room, the relaxed atmosphere, the views (so many birds!). Everything was perfect for us and please remember that this was only 20 minutes from the port and city centre of Olhao, so easy access to Culatra and the islands, and within easy reach of Faro. What more could you wish for? Can't wait to return in October!
Beautiful property, with a nice infinity pool, perfect for relaxing, in the middle of nature. Employees very helpful and friendly. They have a nice "self service" fridge where you can buy wine, beer of soft drinks (and deposit the payment in a jar). Room amazing, with a very nice terrace. Hotel was fully adapted for Covid measures. Great for a long stay or overnight (for those going from Spain to Portugal or vice versa), driving by Faro.
We only stayed one night but the hotel is very well located, right in the center of the village, and although it does not have its own parking area, you can easily park nearby. The hotel is very charming, it's a beautiful old house, with a distinctive architecture and historical and pleasing interiors and decoration. Our room was very clean and thanks to the AC, we had a good night's sleep in the middle of summer.
Everything! The owner is really lovely and very accommodating. She let us checkin early and also extended the checkout time because she didn’t need to get the room ready for anyone else that day. The bedroom was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. The property is beautiful and within walking distance to the centre of Estoi.
I had a great stay at this small family run hotel that exceeded my expectations. The welcome was friendly, the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast delicious and the pool was a dream to relax at on, before and after a hot Algarve day. I would definitely recommend this small hotel and stay there again when I come back to the region.
- lovely small hotel.
- there is a great restaurant, We had big breakfast, tasty dinners and very good wine. Everything was delicious and the cakes were excellent! Overall, some of the best food we had in our stay in Portugal.
- The villa has a big garden with a pool and we would love to come back in the summer.
Beautiful palace and grounds which have been converted into a hotel. Rooms are very large (even the standard) and well-appointed in a minimalist decor. The pool area is great, as was breakfast. Well worth the short walk through town to walk through the lower gardens (not accessible from the hotel directly).
we liked it that much we came back, it’s a perfect stay over for the airport.
This hotel is great, inside it is like a little palace, very grand.
The breakfast this time was even better than last time, fresh orange juice, cereal, rolls, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and pastries, oh and the coffee is good.
Beautiful tradition home in the perfect location! It is clean, private and offers great panoramic views of Estoi and surrounding area! We really enjoyed exploring the town, meeting the locals in the nearby cafes and restaurants! We cannot wait to come back here!
The place is incredibly clean and beautifully traditionally furnished. The staff are unbelievably gracious, and it’s in the heart of town across from the main church, and a quick walk to both the Roman ruins, and Palacio Estoi.
the property is incredible and perfect for a stay in the Algarve! the hotel is beautiful, the grounds are incredible and the food is amazing. highly recommend for a couple or a family. it is a calming place to get away.
The host was very welcoming and the breakfast was lovely. We were upgraded to a larger room which was a nice surprise! A little supermarket over the road was really convenient. We really enjoyed our stay in Estoi
Absolutely everything was amazing ,clean lovely place ,friendly family ,great bed and shower was wonderful better than in most of hotels ,we were very happy all what you need when you look for cheap option
Place super original, an old mansion turned into a hotel, catarina was a super host, the place is quiet; the common areas make you feel like home. Defintely going again on my next trip to the south.
