I really like this place, everything about it. I could use the Internet fine, vpn back home just fine. I could plug my portable media centre into the TV and use that just fine. It's location is right next to some shops on one side, over the road more shops and straight in front is the Panda restaurant place and yet more shops. It's our go-to place in St Malo now. If you can not park at the hotel as the car park is small, there is more than enough parking around for you to get a space and walk 2 minutes back. Bit noisy in the mornings where our room was right by the main door, but being busy is the mark of a good hotel, and it was kids making the noise most days so I can't blame them for that.

One of the major seaports connecting France and England, Saint Malo is Brittany’s most visited town and a tourist destination in its own right.
The Old Town overlooks the English Channel and is completely surrounded by restored walls. You get a great view of them if you arrive on the ferries from England to St Malo (either direct or by the Channel Islands). Once an island, this citadel now shelters behind it the hundreds of sailing boats bobbing in the modern harbor.
Within the Old Town are bars and restaurants serving oysters from nearby Cancale, and many of the St Malo hotels. The most notable sights are the cathedral with its colorful, stained-glass window, and the castle - site of the town's museum.
The beaches are sandy, though the water is somewhat bracing. A causeway leads to Grand Bé, a rocky island housing the tomb of Chateaubriand, its most famous son. To the south is the 14th-century Solidor Tower, a remarkable collection of artifacts from voyages around Cape Horn. Further inland is Labyrinthe du Corsaire, a huge maze that will keep kids busy for hours.
In the Rance River, connecting the sea to Dinan, is the world’s first tidal power station. The road over it leads to Dinard Airport, the closest to Saint-Malo.
Saint Malo is a very interesting and beautiful town.
Saint Malo is a very interesting and beautiful town. It has something for everyone, whether couples or families. Shopping, walking playing at the beach or just a stroll along the ramparts.we were there a week and still could have stayed longer. Public transport is at your door to explore surrounding areas.
Sunsets were amazing.

Outstanding medieval walled city rich in centuries of history. Inside the walled city is a beautiful labyrinth of cobbled lanes and alleys, filled with cafes, shops, restaurants and hotels. A truely unique experience that visitors should invest time to discover all there is to see. The changing tides and the effect on the local coast is remarkable to see. Best to visit at low tide.

One of our favourite places to visit in France. Lovely walk around the ramparts and historical information is readily available. Shopping is a lovely experience and lots of bars. restaurants and bistros to choose from. Ideal for all ages and something for everyone. Lovely place to visit for a long weekend ; great beaches and restaurants. We ate at Le Cale in Solidor ; great seafood but quite pricey and in a great location overlooking the bay. The Creperie also great for snacks, tapas and drinks. Great atmosphere and great views and great value for money.
Intra muros really interesting and great to walk around walls. Enjoyed walking around the peninsula between Solidor and St Malo . A great walk parc Solidor with fab views and a great private beach at low tide.
We were just out of season so weren't able to to use the sea bus across to Dinard as planned.
This hotel in St Malo's old town is close to bars, restaurants, cafes and boutique shopping. All the best attractions are nearby: ramparts, beaches, incredible ocean landscapes, and the port. The tourist office is very close.
Even better, the family who run the hotel are friendly, helpful and professional - and were happy for me to practise my French on them.
The rooms are warm and comfortable. There's a bar in the lobby, and a terrace to 'prendre une verre' and watch the world go by.
The continental breakfast is wonderful.
The location of this hotel was very convenient to parking just outside the old-town walls, the ferry terminal, shopping & restaurants, as well as local beaches. The bed was comfy and it was nice to have a desk. The shower had nice hot water. The staff were able to accommodate my late arrival and they were extremely helpful in making sure I retrieved some valuables that I left behind in my room. I'd recommend Quic en Groigne if you're visiting St Malo.
It was worth paying extra for a sea view room which was also quieter as the hotel is located above restaurants
The location right in the middle of St Malo old town was good with a huge choice of restaurants/cafes/bars and shopping all within a short walk
We really liked the St Malo Cafe a hundred metres away. Not cheap but a real French eating expereience with a good choice of wines
Reception staff were excellent friendly and helpful
Perfect location within the old town walls, 3 minute walk from car park at the quay.
Very friendly & helpful staff & owners.
Looks like it’s been recently refurbished to a high standard with good quality furnishings.
Boutique hotel style. Excellent fresh breakfast with home made cakes & jams. Owners were so friendly & attentive
Even offered my husband a coffee whilst he was outside having a cigarette!
Good restaurant recommendations
A fabulous hotel right in the middle of Old Saint-Malo with secure parking. Can’t speak highly enough of Nolan who greeted us at reception with a lovely welcome and who helped us with a number of questions that we had. A credit to the hotel. Our room was lovely (501), on the top floor and with space to spare. Would definitely book it again. Breakfast was good with options for standard Continental or Continental + cooked items.
The apartment is in a lovely building in a very good place for access to the beach, the seafront walk and the walled city. There was a good supermarket within walking distance and a lovely boulangerie nearby. The apartment was lovely. Spacious and bright and very well supplied. We wish we had been there for a lot longer and will recommend it to family and friends considering visiting St Malo
Thank you
The location is very convenient for those who want to walk around the wall of the old town after dinner. It takes 2 mins walk to a carrefour supermarket, 5-10 mins walk to the center of the old town. Will definitely choose this hotel again if I come back for the beautiful beach and old town! By the way, the speed of the wifi is among the best I have experienced in hotels in France.
The very generous space, the spectacular sunsets, the beach nearby, the quaint neighborhood for a fresh morning walk, the crystal clear night sky to gaze stars, the excellent restaurant next door with outstanding service and food, and, its proximity to Mont Saint-Michel, another out-of-time place to stroll and breathe in. It is genuinely hard not to fall in love with France.
The hotel has a great location within the city walls (intermuros) and is really close to the long beach strip. You can have your breakfest in front of the hotel while watching the people passing by. The 3 bed room was comfy with a big bathroom. The staff was professional and the breakfast quite good. All in all we felt there like being in the middle of St Malo.
The rooms were large and clean and the best was large and comfortable. The room had air conditioning and some space to hang clothes. There was a flat screen TV. The hotel has a bar and restaurant although we arrived late so 9nl6 sampled the bar. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is also secured parking outside the hotel on a first come first serve basis.
The hotel is beautiful and ideally located a stone's throw from the a variety of shops and restaurants. The staff could not have been more helpful. We hope to return to Saint-Malo in the next 18 months and will certainly be checking in to the Ajoncs d'Or. We will also be recommending it to anyone we know.
the hotel is located "intra muros" which means inside the fortified old city which is the best place to stay.
Diner at the hotel was excellent.
If going by car, make sure to book a parking at the hotel since parking spaces are very difficult to find in the city.
Good location in walled city. Very welcoming and helpful reception. Fairly standard breakfast offering but well presented in a bright room. Car parking under the hotel was a great bonus in such a location if a little adventurous to get into it.
We got a free upgrade, so we stayed in a room with sea view.
Room size is quite large if compared to other hotels inside the Intramuros.
Front desk staff was very friendly and effective.
Location is the best possible.
I only wanted an overnight stop from a late train arrival and an early ferry departure. I was assigned a four person family room, far more spacious than I had expected. Cheaper than most hotels or B&B in the area.
Fabulous location, very nice staff, very good breakfast. I appreciated the onsite parking. Nice big rooms/bathrooms. Best cappuccino we had in France was at this hotel.
