Casté is an old medieval village located in the mountain, right behind the Cinque Terre.
Francesca made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible, taking the time at check in to help us out planning our trip. she has lots of recommendations and tips to avoid tourist traps and make the best out of your stay over there. Francesca also welcomed us with a basket of snacks, olive oil and breakfast stuff which was super nice and helpful for late check in.
The apartment was around 35m2, which was fine with a small dog. You don't spend much time inside anyway. It's fully equipped and had a balcony with a stunning view over the mountain.
The outside courtyard is super nice and you can enjoy the sun until pretty late in the evening. All guests are greeting each other as it's a small place, which is also nice to meet other fellow travellers.
There are many hiking path starting straight from the village to reach cinque terre.

The apartment was charming and we had a wonderful welcome from Gian Paolo. Careful consideration had been given to everything to make our stay comfortable and it was a great base for exploring this wonderful region.

The town is nice but if you are there it’s probably for visiting 5terre, which is really overrated and overpriced tourist attraction, with no respect for tourists.
Looking back, we would skip 5terre and head out to other areas of Italy.
Yet, the apartment we stayed in was fantastic!!

Best cake shop we came across in the region serving fresh cream delights on the main strip; Pasticceria Codeglia Via Aurelia 185. Best dinner at a farm stay La Pineta, Polverara deep in the forest at the end of the road (car a must)
Great walking trails from Valdipino.

We did not know what to expect initially, but after we have arrived and saw the property and the tourist attractions nearby we felt sorry that we didn’t book it for a few more days.
We had an incredible time and found a home away from home over here.
We drove to Ponte Venere on the first day and enjoyed a magnificent view over Byron’s Grotto. Second day we took the train from Monterosso al mare with a pass for the whole day that allowed us to visit all five villages in Cinque Terre. We stayed at the beach for a few hours in Monterosso and the returned for dinner in Manarola at a restaurant called Nessun dorma.

The place makes an impression of a medieval village rather than an inn or a hotel. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant, Very helpful host. If you like hiking there is an interesting trail leading to Riomaaggiore It takes 1.5-2h though.
The appartment owner was very kind and helpfull. It's not a 5 start hotel, but pretty much ok, planty of space, we were 7 persons, it's clean and has all that you need for short stay.
