I saw Bucharest 22 years ago, it was nice, but somehow sad in the same time. It's nowadays a vibrant city blooming. It's nice to see the Romanians have handled their destiny with pride. When center was mostly empty of commercial activities, it's now filled with everything catching the eye. Bookstores, furniture's, design, clothes shop.. A lots of bars and restaurants, artistic places to experience. A lot of efforts have been done in restoring the Innercity and improving parks. It's easy to wander everywhere with good metro/tram/bus connectivity, to experience a cleaving mix between modernism and remains of its komi past. It has still a lot of contrasts, life's not easy for everyone. It delivers a colorful scene always steaming during the week.Alexandre - 8.0Scored 8.0

A most photogenic, vibrant and historic city. Plenty of eating places and cars. A superb and remarkably cheap metro system is the best way to move around, with much to visit in and out of the city. Surprised at the number of English speaking tours and guides. Would I go back?. . . .Yes.

We had a 3 hour walking tour on first day. This was excellent ( would recommend), discovered places of interest, restaurants and importantly the history of your beautiful city. This set us up for our trip. Would recommend taxis to get around, not expensive. Really enjoyed old town, bit touristy but we were selective about eating establishments. A safe city, locals always helpful . Try Papila Restaurant, Maria is a gem … Caru Cu Bere … the real Romania experience Mom’s … Steak, Burgers , Salmon ..something for everyone .. everything delicious .. There are interesting museum in Bucharest and the old town should be worth visiting in the coming years when rehabilitation works would be finished (a lot to do). We enjoy our coach trip to Peles and Bran castles and went by train to the Black sea (Constanta).

I used the gym (which is available 24/7) and it is well equipped for a basic workout. The staff are very nice and friendly. Bucharest is a really interesting place to explore, and the hotel is well situated in the Old Town. Excellent restaurant downstairs (Trattoria Vivaldi). Not the fanciest hotel but a nice 3-star and an extremely convenient location if you need to be near Plaza Romana. Much better than a 30-45 minute daily commute in traffic from downtown (traffic is terrible in Bucharest these days). Do yourself a favor and stay at this 3-star instead.
