The staff, level of service that they provide, and the food are really what made this property special. Even though they didn’t speak a lot of English, they made us feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. We loved having some space as we kicked back after a days of running around and sightseeing in other cities. The sitting room with view of the garden was amazing. The in-room onsen tub was also a highlight. Even though the hotel onsen was lovely, it was so nice to have our own space to use, with the deep wooden tub. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to experience a more traditional Japan. However if you don’t want to eat traditional Japanese food, I would choose a different property as I don’t think they would be able to accommodate many changes to their menu.

It was perfect. The garden on the property was phenominal, nothing like I have ever seen before! It took hours to look at everything! You can also feed the koi fish! It was very peaceful, tranquil and very clean. Very traditional room with the futon bed and they were comfortable! Dimming lights. Great amenities, used the onsen at the hotel which was AMAZING! The staff were immaculate. What an amazing experience!

The service was fantastic, and the views from the balcony was great, even though we only were on the thrid floor. Our room was a really spacius traditional room with tatami mats. I liked the traditional breakfast and dinner. I liked that there was a shuttle service to the Hakone-Yumoto station, even though the walk was really pretty.
