😃😀Thatchfoord Lodge is Beautifull and Clean, in a Quiet Area. Our Room Was Nice and Big With Everything We Needed.. Comfortable Bed, Shower, Fridge, TV and Tea/Coffee Station. I Spend the Weekend with My Sister at The Lodge For My Birthday, It's The Best👌👌 With Breathtaking Views of Nature Arround. Aunty Joyce, The Owner.. Such a Loving and Warm Lady 🫂 She Went Out of Her Way to Ensure We Were Comfortable and Happy. We Were Hungry on Arrival, She Drove Me to Buy Lunch. She Even Surprised Me With a Champagne 🍾 🥂 Wow! I Felt Very Special😃 THANK YOU MAM, MAY GOD BLESS YOU MORE🙏 Monica and Memory Served Us a Delicious Breakfast😋😋 and the Gardener Steven Cleaned the Pool For Us to Take a Dip 🏊‍♂️ 👙 🏊‍♀️ 👙. We Had a Good Braai 🥩🔥 The Nature Trails Along the River Were Amazing. Thatchfoord Lodge is HOME AWAY FROM HOME Ecspecially When You Need Some Peace and Quiet Moment, i'll Definately Go Back👏 👏 👏

Television, poor visuals and some channels don’t have sound. As per television, it was poor.

Stunning location on the Sandspruit river yet very close to Sandton. Amazing birdlife on the doorstep. Joyce and the team are most welcoming and friendly- would highly recommend for an experience you wont get at a big hotel.

The channel options on the television are very limited, but that is a small complaint against a wonderful three-night stay.

The place is beautiful and clean. The staff are so friendly and Joyce goes out of her way to help with anything you need. The view is gorgeous and breakfast was delicious.

Great location, easy to get to from airport and close to shops and restaurants. Quiet and with some nice walks nearby. Friendly staff who go out of their way for their guests.

Everything else was a horrible experience. Should you have a low standard in communication, cleanliness and food then by all means book this place otherwise if you have normal to high standards then avoid! 1. Joyce did not answer any of my calls the whole day after I checked in, I needed a plug to charge and told her this at check in and she said she would bring it… 5 calls later over 5 hours and looking for her, she finally answered and gave one - should I have not decided to leave the lodge and go charge elsewhere I would have been stranded. 2. Then I requested an iron in the morning - she didn’t even answer call/ iMessage from my number whole morning and only the lady at breakfast assisted me when I saw her serving at breakfast- I decided to test Joyce and use my work number to call as maybe she had a problem and as expected, she answered it meaning she was deliberately ignoring me, a guest who paid but would answer an unknown landline number- disappointed to the max, the worst experience I ever! 3. The carpet in the room , looks like it hasn’t been deep cleaned in a long time , rather remove it - I’m not asking you guys to renovate but maintain the standard. Please clean your carpet, ensure you do room maintenance, patch up the broken part in the work desk, remove or fix the broken lamp … don’t put a stained towel in the bathroom … you know the small things you overlooked in my stay. 4. The breakfast! Ants at the table I had to be moved and then I was told the ‘special breakfast today’ which btw was the only option … what came out was 2 Vienna’s ( they said they had sausage ) and 1 back bacon, spoon of Beans straight from a can, nothing done and scrambled eggs…. Listen at that point I just had to hurry and go before I breakdown from worst experience- I travel a bit and yoh This place should be 2 stars not 4 … maybe they use to be 4 in 2010 World Cup but the standard is too poor now … please be attentive and improve for future guests but I won’t be one!

This is a place to unwind , the place Is peaceful and we really enjoyed our stay here, the stuff and the owner are super friendly not to mention the breakfast because it's very delicious. Will definitely come back here.

The TV didn’t work, there were ants in the toilet. I checked out after the first night as the guest house was full and I couldn’t be transferred to another room. The property refused to refund the remainder of the stay. My review would have been different had the property compromised and accepted that my employee was unhappy with the room and they did not have an alternate room.

The location. Most of the rooms was nice except for the one I booked for an employee.
