How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the main (top shower) is disgusting - it's old and moldy and should be replaced! the breakfast is okay but the coffee machine was always broken and we had to wait and wait for coffee...
the location is very good, the stuff is very nice - we had a problem with our safe and they fixed it fast, the restaurant in the hotel offers good food... it's a good value for the price :)

1. A few points of miscommunication with the staff, possibly lost in translation or that came off as rude but probably weren't intended so. Subsequently I've realized that hospitality in Turkey is just different. 2. Please do your research before you buy a sim, book a taxi or tour with them, as they tried to charge us from 2x to up to 10x the real costs if you go and find out the real prices.
Unbeatable location and value for money, considering the neighborhood. We could be at the blue mosque in ten minutes and the tram station in four minutes.

Our room was on street side. We were woken by late night revellers.
Great location to see all the major Istanbul landmarks, only a short walk away.

Rooms are not as big as the pictures in website but still very comfortable.

The location, very much in the centre of a crowded marketplace. However, most hotels in this location has the same drawback.
The staff - excellent and very courteous! All of them, including Ahmed and Javed at the front desk were very helpful and responded positively to all of our queries and needs. The service compensates for the busy location of the hotel. The breakfast for two of us (included in the price) was good enough.

Shower could use some maintenence or deep clearning. Breakfast was just ok, some things get quickly empty but not immediately filled up.
Located on a walking distance to many touristic attractions in Istanbul. Only 4 min walk to the metro and plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived they showed us two rooms and allowed us to chose the one we like most. They also gave us recommendations in navigating the city and were very helpful in helping us find my mother's phone which we lost at a cafe.

A bit noisy at night.
Great location. Major attractions are just minutes away. Everything is quite close and the hotel is also near the tram stop. Helpful and friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Clean and tidy room.

We had the right expectations so we didn't have any issues with the hotel. Is good to set up the expectations correctly, a wonderful value for the money. As a suggestion, i would say: breakfast to have some milk / yogurt & cereals / more fresh fruits.
The location, the staff, the fact that we had only 10 mins walking until the blue mosque & Hagia Sofia.

Breakfast should have been ready with everything at 8.00am. The hot dishes need to be kept hot.

The room was a bit smaller than expected. The cost of traveling to and from the airport to a congested and complicated neighborhood offset the reasonable room price. I had planned to stay at the Grand Naki for an overnight stopover after a 3 week tour of Sicily, but a late night arrival made a stay closer to the airport more practical.
The staff were all helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The adjoining restaurant served a scrumptious lamb stew the night before. Jet lagged we were able to walk safely out into a dark and rainy morning and see many of the local sights within half a mile of the hotel.

The space for the breakfast is small, so you need to arrive out of the pick hours. Good food tough. Shower was great, but the water came from some part in the bottom as well. It was not a problem, but it demands fixing.
Location and kindness of the team. You are 5 minutes walk from everywhere you want to be. Sitting in the top of many restaurants, but still quite at the room. Ar conditioning worked fine once necessary. The room was always clean, we stayed 5 nights. Good value for the money.

For me the room was a bit noisy, the windows didn’t isolate the external sounds enough and there is life on the street in front of the hotel until 2-3 a.m. I had to buy earplugs from a pharmacy, which solved the issue, for the others this was not a problem. The washbasin was leaking a little bit. The toilet seat wasn’t properly mounted and was cracked, functionally was sufficient. The shower was a bit small. The above shower head was not in operational just the hand one. And the shower door was a bit hard to close and wasn’t sealing properly so some water got out always.
The staff is really kind and helpful. The hotel room was clean. The wifi was really fast (80-90mbit) but sometimes didn’t work for a few minutes. The location is great most of the sights are in walking distance. Restaurant The food was good the staff was really kind.

A little bit noisy! Breakfast could be diversified, maybe some turkish delights or baklava could be added for the sweet menu! Bath towels could be bigger!
Nice budget hotel with a perfect location! Very close to all the sightseeings! Free upgrade to the room with a balcony was a nice surprise!!! Staff is very polite and friendly! Free coffee/tea at any time of the day!
