Sand everywhere, there's no mats at the doors to wipe your feet on and we just had sand constantly scattered in our room, with no broom to sweep it up with. They said they offer cleaning of room but we have to tell them each day before 11am, we found this very uncomfortable having to ask every day and didnt want to bother, they also request you to come and get toilet paper and water daily too, something that was a little frustrating compared to other resort we stayed at for cheaper price and better accomdoation and pool. The toilet wouldn't empty properly, the staff politely plunged it after the first day, but it was just a nightmare trying to use it any time (and yes we didn't flush our toilet paper) The bathroom was very dirty, didn't look like it gets cleaned properly, the wall tiles had stains, and the shower had mold build up. The shower also didn't have a screen so the bathroom and toilet was covered in water everytime we showered. When the staff plunged our toilet they used the shower water to clean everything, but didn't use disinfectant or anything else which made us even more concerned about the cleaning standards. When we first checked in there was a strange sand or bugs substance on our bed, we told the staff and they swept it off with a broom instead of changing the linen which was very gross. Though there are a lot of negatives mentioned, I feel like these would be easy things to update to improve customer experience. A daily house cleaning, using disinfectant, providing fresh linen and door mats would have been a significant improvement to our stay. We understand updating bathroom is expensive but the toilet not emptying was a huge inconvenience and we really struggled.

The room was on the beach with a very beautiful view. I liked that I could see my daughter swimming from the balcony and from my bed. The balcony had really nice furniture to laze on and the hotel had multiple swings and benches to bask in the sun. 5minute walk to Shark Bay, which has incredible snorkelling, we saw so many species of fish and swam with reef sharks and turtles daily. 5minute walk to restaurants, 7/11, laundry, tour desks and scooter services. The beds were hard which I didn't mind, but my daughter and partner didn't like them. Staff were quiet and shy, but I found them friendly. No tv in the room which I thought was good, aircon worked very well and was a life saver!

The property is a distance from the main area of the island. If you hire a scooter this is no problem but taxis as very expensive

Room wasn't ready until 2 hours after stated check in time. The girl at reception was very apologetic saying that it was a very busy day. Not a major problem , just went to the beach side restaurant to wait.

Perfect location. Clean room with nice balcony with a side sea view. Staff at reception were friendly.

Excellent location on the beach, accommodating staff. We were a family of 8 and they managed to fit us in for an extra night. You can rent mopeds from them and they will call other places and get you one if they have run out. On-site restaurant overlooking the beach.

The place was a good size but overall dirty, everything was a bit old and dated. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion.

Location was brilliant, beach front with easy access down to other beaches. Not in the party zone so nice and quiet overnight and short walk into some nice bars/restaurants.

The restaurant was lacking in any atmosphere and even if you were staying there they charged 20 baht to use the toilet. They have snorkel gear to rent but it’s super grubby and a lot of it doesn’t work.

I really loved that the property was right next to the beach and the area around is quiet and ideal for families. The WiFi was also good!! Room was well equipped and the air conditioning worked.

The big problem we had at this hotel and the reason we didn’t enjoy the experience was the lady at the reception, Teay. She was extremely extremely rude to us, really inconsiderate at all times, zero helpful and made sure we knew she was fine with us being uncomfortable. Honestly the worst person I’ve dealt with in hotels, it was a huge shame. She has no empathy and no interest in our comfort, it was truly very sad. Would definitely recommend this place because of its location but because of this horrible service I will recommend going to another resort in the same bay! The bay is what makes this hotel amazing!

Big fish resort has the one of the best quality/price ratio I’ve seen and the location is simply amazing. It stands on a beautiful and peaceful beach, the hotel Is wooden and simple and fits well into the landscape, a dream like scenario really. The bay is quiet, calm, not crowded at all, and has a beautiful sunset. The rooms are perfectly fine and the restaurant has great service, okay prices with an amazing view.

The room felt like it wasn't finished. Concrete walls with no paint or whatsoever. Layout of the room wasn't the most convenient either. For our room: windows had mosquito-nets, however, the door had small gaps so they still got in🤣 The bathroom was a bit small so when you take a shower everything gets wet. And pay attention to your booking: not all rooms have a hot shower. This sucks when it rains a lot and you're cold ;) But for the money you pay for it, it's more than sufficient and a very nice place to stay!

The location is great (though a bit far from city center if that's something you like)! Right next to or on the beach. The lady from the restaurant was sooo nice! Had lovely breakfasts there and nice fruitjuices/shakes. Lady at the reception helped us with whatever we needed without trying to gain from it. We rented a moped but had to bring it back very early morning. No problem for the staff, so kind!

Bungalows are worn and need updating. Beds very hard even at Thai standards. The nylon sheets and the (too small) bedspread were uncomfortable. Often no hot water. Only one bedstand. No water basin/bucket at the foot of te stairs to wash the sand off your feet, so that the bungalow floor becomes a sandpit. No broom in the bungalows to sweep the floor. Non-residents occupied the beach chairs belonging to the resort.

Location on the beach. Very pleasant tropical garden venue. Airco was good. Wifi was good. Everyday two free small bottles of water.

I stayed here for two nights and unfortunately we didn’t have a cleaner come in to make the bed / top us up with bottled water but other than that all good!

The location was absolutely stunning for such a low cost. The breakfast was also very tasty and the setting make it even better. The room was decent.

It was located only about 2km from the pier, however it was very hard to get there if you are not renting a motorbike to get there. Also the staff was not very nice and the reception was only working until 5pm so if you had any questions there was no one to ask.

The room was alright and it‘s very nice that the hotel has its own beach and beach bar.

The bathroom is horrible. Rust, and bad smell coming out of the bathroom. Also every extra thing needs a deposit. Not very helpful staff. Not what you are used to anyway travelling in this lovely country.

Outside the apartments look great, the location is lovely, the swinging seats outside are also great.

It was simple accommodation in a great location with friendly staff. The beach was beautiful and not too busy. There was plenty of food options on the beach and on the road out back. We did a day snorkelling trip which was busy but lots of fun, especially for the kids. We had a great time on Koh Tao

The grey cement walls are a bit depressing... Needs some paint or mural. The shower was super basic but worked. The sink was a bit awkward to bend over. The quality of the room was very basic but they still want 1000baht deposit. I was very thankful that they took a form of id instead because I didn't have that much cash on me.

Great location. Beach garden was nice. There's a balcony on the room. There were screens on the windows so you could keep them open at night.
