Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumI can't really find anything negative to mention. Yes of course, it is an old building, but that is part of the charm and it's why we booked it in the first place.

Amazing historic place beautifully decorated and comfortably fitted out. Amazing location. Not sure i have ever stayed at a more perfect place, even places at 10 times the cost. Lots of variety.Buffet of everything you can think of. Well cooked. Excellent tea selection. In a 700+ year old cellar tunnel.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a great location. I stayed at this hotel whilst I was in Sweden for the Eurovision. The hotel was only 2 stops away from the arena, which was perfect. The show ended late and came back to the hotel at around 1 am with no issues. Especially as a female solo traveller I felt safe the whole time. The room was a great size and very clean. Had no faults with it at all. The breakfast was great. Plenty of options are available. The staff were lovely. Check-in was supposed to be 4 pm, but was able to check in early, which was amazing. I can't remember what the lady's name at reception is but she gets a 10/10. :-) I would definitely recommend this hotel.

United KingdomIt’s really more of a large B&B than a true hotel but not a bad thing. Shame they didn’t have their own private restaurant and bar. They lease out space to a third party for catering during day/evening so there is something on site for meals but we chose to eat/drink elsewhere in town instead during our trip, as recommended by the hotel owner.
We asked for a room away from stairs, lift, etc because both of us are light sleepers and whilst initially we were told this might not be possible when we booked, we were given a great room at the end of a corridor which meant no footfall either! It overlooked the inner courtyard and apart from seagulls and the odd late night reveller on the main streets (inevitable when visiting during Eurovision!) we weren’t disturbed. Really pleased and thank you Rhonya on Reception for your help with this. The basement where breakfast is held is stunning and a real asset for the hotel.

This is truly a gem. Historical building in the Malmo city center, with paid private parking. We could ride a 90 year old elevator which really made us travel to times long gone. Each piece of furniture has a story. The library is always open and ice water, coffee and treats are available around the clock. The breakfast area is huge and the breakfast itself was excellent.

United KingdomThe breakfast area is in the basement and is only accessible by stairs. I have an old ankle injury and knee issues which made this uncomfortable for me but luckily I was able to carefully get there as the breakfast was lovely.
Charming and full of character. I loved the library room and got the chance to enjoy an authentic fika experience. There is something interesting in every corner of this beautiful building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and the bed comfy. The breakfast was outstanding, including some of the best tea I’ve had in a hotel. It’s also in a great location, perfect for touring the old part of Malmö and close to the train station to explore further afield.

During my recent stay at Mayfair Hotel Tunneln in Malmo, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and accommodations. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and it was evident that great care was taken to maintain a high standard throughout. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the city center made it incredibly convenient for exploring all that Malmo has to offer. Overall, my experience at Mayfair Hotel Tunneln exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Malmo.

United KingdomIn our room, 253, it was very difficult to get in and out of the bath/shower.
Loved the room, nice little balcony, comfy bed. Loved the layout of the hotel, the up and down bits to find your room, and the age of the hotel/all the info about it's history. Loved the little library with coffee. Loved the waffle maker at breakfast!

GermanyThere is a small elevator to reach rooms on the upper floors from the reception but there are stairs to the reception and stairs to the cellar breakfast room. If you cannot do stairs at all, this hotel would be a challenge. They make this very clear on their website, though, so this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
This was a fabulous find - yes, the room we booked was small but we expected that due to the historic nature of the hotel. Staff was incredibly friendly and we loved staying in a place that felt like a combination of an art museum, historic site and hotel. Breakfast in the 900+ year old cellar was both plentiful and varied. From the hotel, we could walk to either of the two main historic squares in town in about 5-10 minutes. The train station is only 5 minutes walk away. Loved our stay and would definitely return!

United KingdomFor less physically able people the stairs can be a problem as the lift doesn't go all the way down to the breakfast area. I know it is not run by the hotel but beware, the bar is very expensive!
I have stayed at the Tunneln before and l would always stay there when visiting Malmö. As it is not a chain hotel it has an individual feel. I love the artwork and the library where you can entertain friends and even make them a drink. The breakfast room in the arches is wonderful as is the breakfast itself.

SwedenIn the larger room there was quite some dust on certain places, like on the books on the shelve near the bed (not the only place). The shower was hard to get into, especially if you are small like my girlfriend. In the large room most light switches do nothing. The hotel is linked to fine dining but has no bar of their own (plenty of places outside on crawling distance though).
Central location, parking at the hotel (not cheap though), great breakfast interesting atmosphere. Relatively good pricing. The smaller room was very clean, though the bed was a bit small for our liking (but can't complain for the price). I preferred the small room over the larger one with balcony and double bed due to cleanliness and ease of access if the bathroom.

GermanyThis hotel is all about the atmosphere and attention to detail - a nice combination of tradition and comfort, plus some nice artsy touches here and there. Breakfast is good, the rooms calm and the beds comfy. Parking nearby is easy but - as to be expected in a central city location - not exactly cheap.
