The staff are really helpful and charming. The breakfast is excellent and varied. They have put a lot of thought into the range of foods. The rooms are comfortable. They have tea, coffee etc available in the reception are all day with cake at tea time. The location is excellent too. You can walk everywhere and it’s right next to the park.

Rooms could be more maybe insulated, but was still pretty quiet. Not much bad to say about this place.

The carpet by the bed, it fit with the theme, but due to the age of the carpet it might be better under the desk.

You can hear sounds from the other rooms/hallway - but overall this was not an issue because the guests were not very loud.

Lovely, superbly decorated, well maintained old-style hotel providing a friendly and welcoming service. Excellent breakfast, very good location near central station, shopping areas, restaurants &green areas for walks - everything within walking distance. Very much appreciated the free tea/coffee/water & sweets available all day, a nice thought. Especially in the homely lounge areas.

Coffee could have been better

Old fashioned charm, delicious cake and coffee offered on arrival, close to Haga. Breakfast offered a real waffle maker absolutely delicious

The staff at reception were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The building is charming (the oldest hotel in Gothenburg). The room was lovely. And in a very convenient location. Breakfast was great - especially the waffle iron!

Everything was perfect!

Very generous buffet breakfast. There’s free flow of coffee, tea and cake (cake!) in the lobby. My room was charming and so comfortable. Loved the old-fashioned chandelier in my room.

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean room and bathroom, comfy bed and the breakfast is absolutely amazing! The waffles are fantastic! Another great bonus, the Swedish fika. So there is always coffee, organic tea and homemade cake available 😍 There are also a couple of nice lounge areas to enjoy your fika. If I’m ever in the city again I’ll definitely stay only here. Location is excellent too - we got the airport bus to the last stop which is to the train station and then it’s a 5 minute walk.

The hotel is a rich history and it provides a brochure telling you about the history of the hotel and what it has to offer. The staff is also very friendly. They offer free fika and coffee on the ground floor for guests.

As single traveler I booked a single room. As usual. single rooms are very small and often located under the roof or somewhere hidden. There was.a lot of streetnoise (down side of its central location in a narrow street and due to building construction across the street).

Centrally located and close to the station. Hotel Royal is chic. Staff is friendly. Breakfast offers good quality.

Very comfortable, cosy, old-style hotel - it even uses proper room keys! Excellent breakfast, with a very good choice of hot and cold items. Great location in the city centre but still very quiet. The staff were lovely and showed a genuine warmth and friendliness. The free coffee and cake available all day was a nice touch - and it was really great cake!
