The twin room that I booked smelt really bad, it was if someone had been smoking in the room which is strictly prohibited. I put up with the smell on my first night but went and bought a air freshener the next day. I wouldn't rely on the internet either as the signal strength is appalling. I'd also be very wary of booking this hostel if you're planning to arrive in Torun after 5pm as you can't check in sadly. I had planned to stay for 3 nights but had to cancel my first night because I wouldn't arrive in Torun until after 5pm, so looked for an alternative with a later check in time. The last thing that annoyed me was how dark the stairs were and I had to use the torch on my phone so I could see the key pad to gain entry. So I'd recommend bringing a torch if you're staying at the hostel Freedom.

Location is ideal with plenty of shops & bars for shopping and eating out. The receptionist was very polite and friendly.

Clean and cheap and in a great location. Just in the middle of the city. I could even get a discount on my first visit at an adjacent restaurant using a coupon the receptionist gave me. It was a nice experience.

The staff were incredibly helpful with allowing me to check in after the normal arrival times and making sure I could stay safely which was greatly appreciated. The location is perfect for a stay in Torun.

The mattress of the lower bed in the bunkbed of room 8 had the springs or something noticeable that would not allow to sleep comfortably especially on the right side. The wifi signal was too low to watch a movie without interruptions

The use of awful air fresheners with their chemicals could certainly be stopped - I really hated breathing in that toxic chemical air and wore a mask at times as the air fresheners were unbearable. Who wants those chemicals in their lungs?! I mentioned it to the lovely receptionist but she said it was the owner's insistence. If it had not been for the overpowering smells, then I would have given 10/10.

AMAZING location overlooking the Old Town Market Square, SUPERBLY clean (although no recycling bin😟), excellent price and service & a very relaxed atmosphere. TOP MARKS - THANK YOU!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Each client is provided with a key and locker. Tea and coffee are in the kitchen.

The automatic lights in the hall turned on when you were almost past them. The toilet was quite far from my room.

Only downside is there are signs everywhere about all the things you are not allowed to do. But I guess that's necessary for some people.

It was very quiet, I was the only one in the hostel room. But I got a good night's sleep. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Very noisy restaurant downstairs below our room with loud music playing late into the night, making it hard to sleep and had to have the windows closed in middle of summer. The hostel itself was otherwise very quiet and peaceful.

There were a lot of noise coming from the bunks. The reception is open only between 9-17, so check-in check-out times are quite limited (that might not fit well with the name “Hostel Freedom”), and there was no soap in the bathroom.

Wonderful location just in the city centre. Seems like a clean place to stay.
