Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaThe beds in our room were very squeaky. Every movement during the night can wake up the whole room.
The location of the hostel is very unique. Still quite close to the city center (maybe a half an hour of walking) but away from all the noise as it is "hidden" a bit inside the forested surrounding area. I wanted to have my bicycle extra secure as I was renting it and the staff offered me the use of a locked garage.

NetherlandsThere were some interesting stale musty odors.
The "wikkelhuis" is a unique and ecologically-friendly place to stay for a family of four. Appreciated the Auping beds and the breakfast picnic basket. The houses are oriented in such a way that there is a semi-private view of the surrounding forest.

RussiaThe main problem is the lack of electrical outlets in rooms! There can easily be only one, or two at max per room. Just imagine 4-8 people in one room trying to charge all their devices through just one socket. At the same time, every bed has its own lamp, so there is just not a single reason not to put a power socket at every bed. In terms of cleanliness, the shower walls were covered with black mold between the tiles, and it didn't feel quite comfortable.
A cozy and friendly hostel located in the woods just outside of Apeldoorn. I never thought I would say something like that, but this hostel combines feelings of privacy and safety. Friendly and helpful staff makes it easy to go around with checking in and your daily routines, if needed. Breakfast is served until 10 am and never changes: it's a buffet with three kinds of bread, cheese, ham, apple and orange juice, coffee and tea, cereals, fruits, cakes, and jams. Oh, once there were fantastic croissants right from the oven! The hostel is within a 40-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride from the Central Station. The closest bus stop is within an 8-minute walk, so consider it if you have heavy luggage.

United KingdomThe location was close to the bus stop, a little nearer to Apenheul than I was last time and in woodland. The check in was quick enough, the bar had a good selection although I didn’t end up using it and food was available too. The Billiards table was handy, as was the television. The many wijkelhouse did look nice as well as warm. Charly on Asselsestraat (near the Albert Heijn and from this direction before you get to The Palm Coffeshop) is still here along other restaurants and the quiet ambience - I much enjoyed it again this time. It is also true to say that once again, unfortunately I didn't take the time to visit Paleis Het Loo and the museum there but that I have also decided to do that next time without fail. The primates and other animals were happy in the sun and it was again a wonderful experience to spend the day surrounded by them - the feeling carries on which is why I come here as much as anywhere. The restaurant there was nice as well.

GermanyThe loud ventilation at night. It travelled through the walls and the bunk beds are (logically) against the walls. In the middle of the room the sound is not as bad. Perhaps it could be turned off between 11pm and 6 am to at least give a block of respite. Luckily our exhausted kids slept through it!
Well located in a beautiful forestry area of Appeldoorn. Quite. Good facilities for younger and older kids - playground, Billard table). Room very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

GermanyThe room was little small compared to 6 bed sharing and the beds were not well built and it makes noises when somebody was moving above your bunk bed. Needs to work on that. Otherwise it's all ok.
The location is good but a little at the end of the town. Not much around the property but it's a nice gateway for peaceful and calm stay. The staff is really superb. Overall I really liked the stay.

EstoniaBit confusing about the rules - first day the basket was left at the doorstep, subsequent days I was expected to pick it up myself (no problem, but nobody mentioned it). I ordered the same breakfast each evening, and the results were somewhat inconsistent. Nothing special, but it shows a lack of standards.
Perfect location for an after-work chill out, wikkelhousen are extremely cute, if a bit cold this time of year (late March), but there is a good radiator fan. The breakfast basket is a really nice touch. Nice choice for the a-la-carte brekkie.

GermanyI did not like that every day you needed to change the room card because it stopped working. The lockers do not have an option to put a lock so nothing of value can be left in the locker.
It´s ok if you stay for a night, the staff is very kind and helpful with any problem that you have. Rooms are quite basic but comfortable.

United KingdomThere was nothing i didn't like.
I had the best stay here, the dinner in the evening was hearty and delicious, the breakfast was amazing too. I had been on a huge bike ride through the Netherlands and staying here was so calming and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Extra points for such a beautiful playlist during my evening meal. It was gloomy and raining outside in the evening which made being inside even more cosy. There was plenty of room to hang out in the lounge area on the big comfy couch too.
