How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great location, big rooms for Amsterdam. The staff is very friendly and professional at all times. Overall one of the best hotels to stay in, especially if you're on vacation

Drinking water and toothbrush only given for 1 pax during check in. Room rate pricey . But overall ok .
Location is perfect and accessible. Very near to city centre and train station . Staffs are friendly and welcoming .

Although a lovely buffet, charging 36 euros for each guest is a bit much. We had 2 twins, recommend replacing them (room 458).
Wonderful staff in hotel and food service. Location was ideal for walking from train station.

Reception was extremely slow and the staff could try to be a bit happier at the front counter.

There is so much street traffic and you walk out of this nice and quiet hotel and it’s immediately noisy and chaotic. We could sometimes hear the noise when in our room.
Close to the train station which was the main reason we booked here. Loved the fruit and candy they put out every day. The staff was great. Close to trams and many sites.

A lot of noise in the street which you can hear in the rooms.

NEVER EVER choose or accept a room that faces the backstreet. You will never be able to sleep before 3 AM due to the crowd noise and you will wake up at 7 AM due to the garbage collection that is loud, too. We had to request a room change after the first night that the noise was unbearable.
Location is great, clean rooms, nice staff.

Option for an earlier breakfast slot or breakfast to go when you have an early flight to catch would be great.
Nice spacious room, very comfortable bed & good atmosphere in hotel. Accommodated us when we checked in early after arriving by train that morning. Helpful staff. Great location, a few mins walk from the main station which is doable even with luggage.

Room was smaller than expected for a suite. The two beds were essentially feet to feet (touching), which was fine for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) but seemed like it was going to be bigger.
Amazing location, super clean and the housekeeping was excellent. Amenities like candy in the lobby was a favorite, and overall hotel was very nice.

Room had 2 short staircases connecting the bathroom. Inconvenient for moving luggage plus large overhead beam with less head clearance for someone who is tall.
Room was very clean & had all the necessities when traveling. Great location & excellent breakfast.

We made our reservations months in advance, requesting a location close to an elevator for mobility reasons. When we checked in, they told us they only had 2 rooms left - both away from elevator access. Our room was 14 steps to a lower level - no elevator. The hotel seems to rely too much on new technology and snob appeal. Good, friendly people service goes a long way. Luckily there were some good staff that improved our experience.
The hotel is located close to Amsterdam Central for easy train access. Also close to many nice restaurants & shopping. The room was very nice with lots of amenities (including the best shower!). Four gentlemen occupying the front desk 5 days into our trip were very helpful and changed our whole experience with the hotel for the better. Thanks, guys!

Faced several difficulties from a wrong room allocated to us, to a broken shower head, to a fridge not working, and the worst part was that you get to have only one bottle of water a day.
Staff is extremely nice and helpful, on top of the location which is amazing
