This was my first time at a hotel run by students and I had a wonderful experience. All the staff at reception and at the breakfast were wonderfully attentive and professional. The hotel is quite modern, clean and spacious, the rooms are very comfortable and large, and the bathroom had an excellent shower. For breakfast they offer an open buffet which included a variety of cheeses, ham and pastrami, yoghurt, cereals, etc.., and they serve the best coffee I had during my stay in Amsterdam. There is a tram stop just infront of the hotel that takes you to Amsterdam centraal in about 15 minutes. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and I definitely recommend it for short or long stays in Amsterdam.

It's a little bit outside the city center, but you can rent a bike from the hotel and arrive in the center in 10-15 min.

The breakfast was good, they also had gluten-free bread (for me that I have celiac disease is always a bit difficult to find gluten free products). The room was very spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hote needs to fix the issue with the internet , we were not able to connect due to firewall problems. They tried to help us but did not manage to succeed. The bed needs to be improved, mattress is not stable .

We had one unpleasant experience with a member of the teaching staff speaking inappropriately to one of the students, hardly a good example of customer service. The student handled it well and we later praised her for her good grace. All of the students were very impressive. Having said that, the next teacher we encountered was everything one would hope for in this type of school.

We stayed for four nights in a spacious room. It is a training hotel and we found that the students went above and beyond as did most of the staff. It is located about a twenty minute tram ride from the main tourist area but this was not a difficulty at all, in fact it was quite advantageous. The tram stopped right outside the hotel and the attractions were within walking distance if you are prepared for about a forty minute walk. The price of the hotel was very reasonable especially with an included breakfast.

Absolutely fantastic staff, I think the best we have ever dealt with. The room was exceptionally clean, also the hotel was in a great position right next to a park. We really enjoyed the breakfast.

Everything was fine except the bed. Somehow the bed was too hard but its maybe just me.

Consistency of the service should be improved somehow. Sometimes we don't know what to expect. Black coffee is served solely, then it should always be served solely.

Now i know why lots of comments said that the students brought energy and vitality to the atmosphere. It is! Everyone we met was so friendly and ready to help. The room is also spacious and clean. The facilities are simple but we have everything we need including private parking, good value for money. Tram 13 is just at opposite of the hotel, very convenient.

Exceptional place to stay in Amsterdam, although a little out of the main centre it was easy to catch the tram which had a stop directly across the road. Staff were fantastic and helpful and the room was perfect.

The pillows and bed mattress were not comfortable. That’s the only minus.

It was kind of different experience compared to ordinary hotel rooms. The decor, lighting and bed arrangements etc were unique and I loved it. It was super clean room. Special wishes to all the hard working students who made my stay a pleasant experience. I would give a 9/10 for the experience.

I have nothing but good things to say about the service from all the students at Skotel however I did have a very bad experience with one of their teachers. There was a miscommunication regarding my room (the hotel’s mistake) and the supervising teacher spoke so rudely to both me and her students at reception. Her bad attitude and customer service experience was utterly appalling. The lovely student profusely apologized and the teacher not once apologized or offered any empathy, setting a horrible example of service for the students. She was working the morning shift until 4pm on 15/5, blonde bob haircut. She could have ruined an otherwise very pleasant stay just with her terrible demeanor alone. However in vast contrast the teacher working the afternoon shift from 4pm was absolutely lovely! Very professional, friendly and most importantly patient and kind when directing the students at reception. This does not go unnoticed.

All of the students working were extremely welcoming and friendly. Tram stop right out the front which takes you into the city centre in about 15-20mins. Big rooms, very clean, no noise, comfy beds and breakfast included.

Nothing. The hotel isn't city centre, but with a great tram link that isn't problematic.

It was a pleasure to stay in the school and see the students at work in a real life setting - just relax and be yourselves and all will be good!

Fresh products for savoury breakfast can be improved (only ham, cheese and a couple of bowls with tomatoes and hummus). Would be nice to get more toiletries(e.g. Showercap, toothbrushes etc) and bath towels are too small. Located far from the city centre, however tram 13 stop is just in front of the hotel and it goes directly to the centre and Amsterdam Centraal train station.

The room was a good size double with big comfortable king bed. Bathroom also good size with enough space to place your things. Shower comfortable and good pressure. The room is well insulated acoustically. It is pretty quiet despite facing the main street and being on 1st floor. Staff is composed by students of the hospitality school. All of them very professional and kind.
