How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The distribution of the room, the bathroom door always is in the middle. I understand that with small room you can’t do much. There were also fungus on the shower, between tails.
The available coffee and fruit at all times.

I would have liked a breakfast option, but there were apples available as well as coffee, so I have no real criticism.
I was delayed for some hours on my train journey from Cologne and didn't arrive at the hotel until after 11pm, but reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was small as expected but very comfortable.

Not a lot we didn’t like. No fridge in room (Our fault for not checking) staff happy to put things in a lock away fridge for us though. Two of us with long hair the combined shampoo / conditioner / body wash wasn’t really the best (smelled great) so only let down.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Great location to Rijksmuseum, Heineken Experience, Hop Off Hop On Bus and boats. Heaps of restaurants and bars in local area. Close to trams and Metro to get you into Central Station etc.

Size of the room/bathroom, cleanliness and smell, view from the window on the -1 floor (though it's nice there was one and I could open it). It might not be the fault of this specific hotel, but I found the value for the price paid rather low.
Employees that are willing to help with the invoice. Amazing location so close to the Vondelpark! Free tea, coffee and fruits on the first floor is a nice bonus.

Since a few of the days were unseasonably hot, the lack of air conditioning was a problem for me. I perspired so much that this put a bit of a damper on my stay. I would gladly pay a bit more to have A.C.
The staff is amazing. I received more help than I could have imagined, from the help with charging my phone to the lines drawn by Marina on maps, which helped me locate a number of places I wanted to visit. The care and attention were truly remarkable. I also appreciated the lovely coffee and apples in the lobby. The gentleman who cleaned the rooms was also very kind and helpful. My room, though tiny, was quite adequate for my needs and the bathroom meticulously clean.

The hotel is abit dated and some housekeeping just needs to be stepped up…i.e. some of the walls where dirty

The room is hot. Luckily it was spring, but I imagine that in summer it must be difficult. The sink was clogged. The bathrooms doorknob was a bit broken as well
Comfortable, the personnel was very kind and helpful, we made the checkin a bit earlier. You have coffee, Tea and apples on the lobby. Good location and good value for money

Nothing! :)
The staff are absolutely brilliant! They are so lovely, friendly and considerate. We had a 9pm flight home, and they were kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage after checkout with them until 6pm, and then offered us tea and the toilet before we went to the airport! The location is spot on too! Near all the top attractions and easy to get to after spending all day on our feet, plus it is only a few minutes from the metro!

Unfortunately the elevator was not working on our departure day so we had to lug our large suitcase down the stairs. We realized things like this happen.
The location and front desk staff was very helpful.

Room very dark even though there was a window. The hotel could probably be done with an upgrade as very dated.

Building and facility needs attention. Room save faulty, no plug in bath.

You can hear other guests moving around from other rooms, doors closing etc. However, this didn't really bother us much at all.
The location was excellent, staff friendly and the room was clean and tidy. The free tea and coffee was a lovely bonus. Exactly what we needed for our short stay in Amsterdam

Extremely small room with 4 nights of poor sleep due to guests above making noise all night,also lots of inconsiderate guests coming back early hours of the morning screaming and shouting,very limited storage space in the rooms and broken TV.Also water pipes running through our room kept waking us up evertime somebody flushed the toilet or had a shower
