How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The only catch is the 38 Euro taxi fee to Airport, but at 4:00am who cares!
I hardly have breakfast at all, only tea. Location: small lovely Dutch town with shops & several nice restaurants. Ice cream is a world experience which shouldn't be ignored. Take photos too

We asked for the room ( with the sign) not to be cleaned however room was cleaned. Also locked out the room for some reason however no issue getting a replacement key
Very scenic place and modern hotel. Recommend to everyone

You had to ask for coffee and tea everyday from the front desk.

No coffee machine
Aalsmeer is a good choice for accommodation close to Schiphol airport and Amsterdam as well as Haarlem. It is a very nice hotel with good facilities. The staff is very helpful.

My room faced an enclosed "courtyard", so the room was really dark. I was on the courtyard level and it didn't feel safe keeping the windows opened to refresh the air in the room.
The location is good and quiet. The room was big and clean. Breakfast had lots of choices and was good quality.

I like to read in bed before going to sleep but my spouse doesn’t. They have installed ceiling lights on the walls so they fill the whole room with brightness and there is no possibility of directing the light to only one area. The twin beds were nice and comfortable.
Checking in was fast and friendly. We chose to stay in Aalsmeer so we could go to the flower auction. It was convenient for our purposes because it was not too far from Schiphol airport.

Not enough tea in the room. 3 tea bags, felt for the price should have had at least 4 for a twin bed room. (We like our tea). They did give us more when we asked. Breakfast expensive for a help yourself buffet and the price on the card in the room by the door was cheaper. Hotel didn't honor the price, nor did they change the incorrect price list even though they said they would. They also tried to over charge us for the room initially until I queried it as it didn't match the price quote on booking.com.
Location. Pretty town with good facilities. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Restaurant attached great

Nothing to complain about
Good location near the airport and in a pleasant neighborhood. I took an Uber there from the airport but then the bus and the train to Amsterdam center. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good.

The restaurant cooked everything to order and the food was great. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood, seeing Dutch bridges and the local windmill.
This is a good hotel in a beautiful Dutch village 4 km from the airport. The room was large, and the restaurant was excellent. We stayed here the day we arrived in Holland, and ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast the following morning. On the period mentioned for this review, we came back to stay near the airport and enjoyed the restaurant again Hotel and restaurant are excellent.

Very cozy, tidy and quiet hotel. Excellent staff. Great food at restaurant. Just loved this hotel. It was easy to take the busses to other destinations and also nice places around Aalsmeer. I will come back for sure. Highly recommend.

The only thing I felt that was missing was perhaps a fridge! I have medication that usually requires to be kept in a fridge, but it’s no bother.
After a long long day of travel, it was a delight to come to this property to rest. The staff was friendly, letting me store my items and I checked in early because my room was ready. The room was spacious and the bed was EXQUISITE. All facilities well maintained and it overall was a pleasant stay.

More detail in cleaning. The partition between the toilet and the room was not clean. Sheets and Quilt could be cleaner, maybe use some fabric softener and better detergent or something to make it nice soft and white.
Nice clean room over all, everything was available in the room. The slipper to have is a huge plus. Nice toilet, everything was as expected.

Nothing I can think of.
The cooked food was lukewarm so that was disappointing. It was well laid out and lots on offer. The room was comfortable and quiet but it was very warm and the bedding too thick at this time of year. I was too hot in the night but realized there was a small fan in the room if I'd thought to look. Restaurant staff were helpful but very busy. Went out of their way to provide a good supper.
