Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe master bedroom is small. There is no room to open the suitcase. There is a large storage cupboard, but it is not available - it is either locked or full with blankets and stuff. We had no place for our stuff, and had to open our suitcase in the living room and use it. It would have been nice to provide guests a map of the area with recommendations and highlights. The owner sent us a link to such information, but it is not the same as a map, where you can see what is close by.
Great location. Living room is very nice.

ItalyBuilding is old, but apartment renewed. Still for a 10 months crawling there were a few dangerous places (but we managed to put everything in safety). There are a few stairs to get into the apartment. We didn't know were to leave the stroller, ended up leaving it downstairs but anybody can take it
All the rest and overall we were super happy. Also the kids love it!

IsraelLarge bed not comfortable. Sheets came off bed - too small &worn. Large bed too near wall. Have to climb over bed to get to that side. Could be rearranged more centrally. No extra pillow cases if you want extra pillows. Trisim rattle in wind. Doors to bathroom stick make noise when you open/close in middle of night .
Roomy apartment. Good kitchen. Great shower. Comfortable seating in living room. Very near machtesh. Amazing view.

IsraelThe apartment is in a very old apartment building, the entrance is not pleasant, dirty and dark in the night. Overall we had a nice experience, but for the price I would expect a nicer building.
The apartment was very comfortable, well equipped for a family, spacious and very clean. It's in a walking distance from the walking route near the cliff. The check-in instructions were clear and allowed us to check in autonomously and quickly.

IsraelThe entrance to the building is a bit neglected, and the walls are super thin. We stayed for two night, the first one we had really loud trance music in our bedroom. The music did stop at 11pm as law requires, but with a small kid that goes to sleep at 8pm, this was not very pleasant. The second night, we had the upstairs neighbor play the piano and sing until around 9pm. Other than that - the pots and pans are scratched and can be replaced.
We stayed there with one kid but it can easily fit a family of five persons. The location is great - 2 minutes walk from amazing view to Makhtesh Ramon. The apartment is really nice and cozy. There are three basic rooms, one bathroom and an additional toilet. The living room is comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. There's lots of parking. Taking the price into consideration this is a great deal.

IsraelThe apartment was not as clean as we expected, mostly we found a lot of dust in many locations. The warm blankets were not covered in sheets, and this should be improved (I assume they do not wash those after every stay). Even though the apartment itself is lovely, it is located in a rundown building with no landscaping/gardening and a view of the desert, and the cost (in my opinion) does not reflect that. Finally, for the price we paid, we expected a decent coffee, but they only provided black coffee powder (only after we asked for it), not even instant coffee. This could be easily fixed with a simple Nespresso machine and some pods.
This is a very convenient apartment with 3 bedrooms, and a separate living room and kitchen. It can easily host a family with 3/4 kids. The apartment was overall in a good shape, and very close to the Makhtesh Ramon viewpoint (~1 min walking distance). The kitchen is equipped for cooking and food serving. The living room has a comfortable sofa. The location is very good to start several hikes without the need for a car, and not far from the commercial center of town wite grocery stores, fast food, and more.

IsraelRegarding the bathrooms - it would be a good idea to specify explicitly that the second bathroom is just a toilet. This might be important if the guests are two couples.
The Desert Zen apartment is spacious (3 bedrooms), clean, and located just across Albert Kats promenade and Camel Mount. This is a quiet area with a peaceful view. The kitchen is fully equipped. Also, there is a supermarket nearby. The host (with whom we talked over the phone) is friendly and helpful. Considering these pros, and the modest price - Desert Zen is absolutely recommended.
