Nothing to complain about, just loved it

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in Ubud that offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. Nestled in a picturesque rice field area, the hotel is close to downtown Ubud but delightfully remote, with access limited to motorbikes and foot traffic. The hotel's serene ambiance was occasionally punctuated by the presence of adorable ducks, adding a touch of charm rather than disturbance. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily, ensuring a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the outdoor shower in the bathroom, which provided a unique and refreshing experience, though it did attract some friendly lizards. The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to assist with any issues, making the stay even more pleasant. For those wanting to explore the city, it was an easy walk to downtown Ubud, but for the less energetic, a convenient moto shuttle was available. The generous-sized pool was a perfect addition to the serene setting, offering a relaxing spot to unwind. Overall, this hotel is a gem for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with easy access to the vibrant heart of Ubud.

No fault of the Samara, but nearby burn offs were unpleasant at times

Staff are exceptional, so friendly and always with a smile, go above and beyond to be helpful which made for an amazing stay. The location is great and open with ducks in the rice fields, the rooms are great as well!

We were there during some construction, so it was hard to find a peaceful spot to work or relax. The outdoor bathrooms could be refined with some hooks for towels and shelves for clothes.

With an outlook over the ever-diminishing rice fields, it was a wonderful peaceful place amongst the bustle of Ubud. The free afternoon tea was an awesome touch, as were the scooter rides right into the heart of Ubud whenever we needed. The outdoor/indoor lobby area was a great place to work, play board games. The refills of water, rather than plastic bottles, was a huge plus for us.

Amazing place! Excellent facilities and breakfast, and in a lovely quiet area amongst the rice fields. Rusma and her team were great, our villa was cleaned daily and towels changed. Would definitely stay here again!

Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Safe and serene environment. We stayed in the lovely two storey villa. We absolutely love the private pool overlooking the rice fields. Complimentary scooter rides provided to go to the main road which was fun but we loved walking to the main road too, past the smaller cafes and makeshift shops along the way. Delicious and healthy breakfast provided. Complimentary tea time snacks included, too! Thank you so much!

Honestly there was nothing I didn’t like.

Staying here was a great experience because of the location in the rice field and access with the scooters made it a very memorable time. Close to markets and lots of places to eat. Friendly staff who provided us with prompt and enthusiastic service anytime we needed it.

The early morning can be a bit noisy because of the animals in the ricefields. Complimentary bottles of water could be added to the fruits already offered.

Amazing location in the ricefields, far from the noise of the city with a beautiful trek to join Ubud. Great villa with an outdoor shower, and very kind personnel. Very good italian restaurant in the hotel.

Wauw! Our stay was amazing! We are travelling with our daughter (18 months) and we all felt home when we arrived. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and are great chefs! Little Robyn immediately had a couple of new aunties she fell in love with. The rooms have a great atmosphere and are located close enough to Ubud, but also far enough for peace and silence. We initially booked for 1 night, but cancelled our next hotel to stay longer. Thanks team of The Samara hotel!

it’s a short walk in and out of Ubud, with children this was difficult. luckily the staff were able to scooter the children in and out when possible.
