Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was much further out of town than I expected for some reason; it is dark once the sunsets, so be prepared to have a torch. The steps are narrow and not good for anyone with mobility issues or a lot of luggage. I would have appreciated a mosquito net.
I didn't really stay long enough to get much of a feel for the place; the weather was bad when I stayed so I am not the best person to ask for a review. The sounds of nature at night were relaxing.

NetherlandsSloppy to push a toilet roll holder back into the wall without fixing and kicking the van down the road. Mice in the bathroom because some hole wasn’t fixed. I don’t care tbh but it’s sloppy not to pay attention and felt like they didn’t care when I mentioned.
Very nice bungalows! Had a great stay. Good value for money.

United StatesThis is definitely at no fault of the property, but there is quite a bit of construction going on, with one project going on directly beside the property and another project across the rice terraces. It made for a fairly loud experience for most of the day, especially in the bungalow. The construction across from the terraces continued for some time after sunset. The property is located only a few I’m away from downtown Ubud, but be wary of what time you travel if you’re heading that way since the traffic can prolong the drive by a good bit. The only other issue was that both pools had a moderate amount of algae, so we chose not use those facilities. We did come stay with them after rainy season was just ending, so it’s understandable since pools are very hard to maintain with a lot of rain. Overall once construction is completed we would be happy to stay here again!
We stayed in the honeymoon suite which is an awesome bungalow located at the very top of the building and had a great view of the rice terraces. The property is north of downtown Ubud so it’s definitely quieter and more peaceful, but it does have a few good restaurants in the area. The suite was well furnished and maintained, and the outdoor bathroom and special tub was a cool feature. The gardens and pools were very pretty. The staff were amazing, they were very happy to help with directions, booking, luggage, and anything else that may be needed! The breakfast was great and for a very reasonable price.

MexicoThe way to the cottage very sloping and slippery with the rain, you have to be careful to not fall down. Since you are in the middle of nature, I saw a snake outside my cottage.
The cottage are really nice it has a mini fridge also a small terrace with a table and chairs that were very useful to spend sometime there or have breakfast. Pardoned are very kind and the breakfast is super delicious.

AustraliaThe rice fields unfortunately have building sites on- so less picturesque than imagined The internet didn't work for a lot of the time (if on holiday then no worries, but I was there for work/research) It would be great to have straws that are not plastic.
The location is great, and really peaceful, but an easy ride to the centre. There are nice warungs in walking distance. The cottage was very nice and clean and made of wood. The breakfast was good and sometimes was bought to me in the cottage if I asked. The staff were very helpful (occasionally hard to find) but when there very nice.

New ZealandSome burn-off of plant rubbish nearby made for some smoky air, otherwise was a good environment. Options at in house resto were limited if vegetarian, but nearby BintangBali Warung was excellent for choice.
Room was large and quiet. Pool was deep, clean and cool. Views over rice fields were nice, but recent construction has changed views from images on web site. Good dining options nearby and short walk to shop for snacks and other supplies.

MalaysiaThe water heater doesn't work well. The water either too hot or too cold.
The room is spacious, the surrounding view is great! The staffs are friendly too, and they can send the foods (breakfast) to the room instead. I have two kids below 3, and they provided additional pancake for my kids without any charge.

United KingdomShame the yoga area had no teacher so has been lef unattended.
The pool and views over rice fields were lovely. However, a large hotel is being built, which unfortunately will be a little obstructive for your view in the future. Location is much quieter than ubud, and the hotel will arrange to drop you in town for a very small fee. Well worth it for some quiet!
