How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast.: Very limited options for Vegetarians. Onc Coffee Machine was always defective.

No air condition during night time from 11 PM to 7 AM. We couldn't sleep. Carpet is not clean and making bad smell in the room. The room must to be ventilated.
Junior suite is big enough. Location is perfect.

No slippers supplied in a carpeted room.
The location is exceptional. The Metro is below the Hotel. An excellent range of buses & old fashioned trams pass by the Hotel although you can walk to most places of interest. RAI Italian TV station. The Breakfast is abundant and can serve as Brunch. The Hotel has a history and this can be seen from the Reception area & Restaurant. Sound proof really works since traffic could not be heard from my room with a balcony overlooking a cross-road

It would be nice if Hotel supplies cheap slippers due to Carpeting.
The hotel is very centrally located. All the attractions are within walking distance. If you want to see certain monuments then be prepared for hills & stairs. The Metro is under the Hotel. Even though my room overlooked the main streets, the noise was completely shut out. Two Italian RAI TV stations

Breakfast was more than adequate. fully stocked buffet with both hot cooked and cold cuts and continental breakfast. Staff were informative and ready to help with questions. We used the public transport and found that the underground stop was right next to the hotel. most convenient and we bought day passes which included unlimited transport on the underground, tram, and city buses. the very best way to navigate the city.

The rooms need renovation, the air conditioner was ok but could be cooler in the room, the every day cleaning also can be better

Showers fixtures all over Europe are a problem. This one was working perfectly with lots of hot water, until the shower head decided to launch itself into the bath tub.
Excellent location . Atmospheric hotel with well trained staff. Spacious room, well planned layout with space to put things on.

There was a lot of road noise, but I did have a room on that side of the building

The hotel visibly needs renovation (to get a fresher look) and to keep things functional (we realized our toilet flush was easily running on its own at night, better noise insulation windows exist nowadays)
The location is ideal, the staff is friendly, the historical feel of the hotel and restaurant takes you back to the 1930s

It's a little outdated and dark. No eletric kettle in room, no cups.
The friendliness of the staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Very clean room and bathroom. Walking g distance to a lot of the restaurants, shopping. Attractions

Outside facade and entrance of hotel could do with a make over, seemed old looking.
Inside decor of hotel was authentic and attractive. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was tasty and with a lot of choice. We drank in the Cafe Astorius each night and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent

No view at all. Even with nice windows proof sound we can eat outside street noises.
The location is very good for walking and subway access. Lot of fast food around it. The staff is excellent and ready to help. We left soon I'm the morning and they prepare breakfast to take away.
