The Hamam Oriental Suites was a very pleasant surprise a outstanding interesting hotel right in the middle of Old Rethymno Town. The design and features were brilliant , the rooms were spacious,clean and well equipped.

It’s a great place to stay. My room has sauna room is good to release my tired and continue my trip. It’s good to stay at balcony for breakfast. Michalis, the staff, is helpful and cheerful. Hamam Oriental suites is a great place to stay. I will pick up this definitely for my stay if I come again.

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the centre of the old town, in a nicely renovated previous hamam with really nice attention to detail and beautifully decorated. Located in a small alley way, very quiet, very friendly staff and had a really good stay at the place and would highly recommend it also as very good value for money.

Unique accommodation in a former 16th century hammam. Beautifully appointed with comfortable beds! Kind friendly hosts. And perfectly located, close to restaurants and the harbour but in a quiet residential street.

The concierge had very limited English, and his son, who was the main translator, was away. But we managed to check in. However, it would have been super helpful to have a guide to using the hammam and its various tools. Even more helpful would have been a heads up after our booking on what things to bring to increase the enjoyment, such as scrubs, lotions, aromatherapy bits.

Wow, this place was amazing. Our room had the private Hammam--Turkish steam room, plus the domed ceiling with skylights. Exotic, comfortable. Like stepping into a different world. Location was central to shops and restaurants and the harbor, with parking a short distance away. One of the most charming places we stayed.

City sometimes lowers water pressure during mid-day to conserve, so shower early or late. Not fault of the owners!

Wonderful location in vibrant Old Town. Family owners are super helpful. Outdoor covered deck is lovely addition to the charming quarters. Perfect for a couple or parents with older child, as second bed is a twin upstairs in loft. Queen bed downstairs has adjoining full bathroom and there is a powder room with sink and toilet, too.

Authentic and original design, real oriental hammam, right im the city centre, buy queit at the same time. The owner was super helpful with all our pandemic-related administrative difficulties/restrictions throughout past years and thanks to their flexibility we could finally be there. Wonderful and unique experience!

Michalis' customer service was second to none, met with a smile each day, extremely helpful and always received a lovely greeting from Michalis' father each evening. On one occasion Michalis couldn't find us a suitable winery visit and went above and beyond to appease the situation (wine involved). The property couldn't have been in a better position, 5 minutes walk from the fortress (a little up-hill), 5 minutes walk from the port and 15 minutes walk through the town or along the sea front to the beginning of the town beach (2 x sunbeds, table & umbrella 10 euros with drinks/food available delivered to your sunbed) and nearest bars/tavernas 1 minute walk (would take months to work through all the different ones). We stayed in Hyacinth (1st floor) which is extremely spacious, air-con very good, mini kitchen helpful (complimentary tea, coffee etc until shop located), shower large and powerful, patio area spacious although spa bath needs a little TLC but worked ok (takes approx. 45 mins to fill). Head to Sunset bar on other side of fortress if you want the sunset.

The shower was improperly installed. It was a handheld shower with a bracket to hang it and was part of a jacuzzi tub as well. The problem was that they installed a glass wall to block the water from the shower from getting on the floor at the wrong end of the tub. There was also a small bracket on the glass wall end but the shower hose was not long enough to reach the bracket! So … I would recommend they find a longer hose (the easiest fix!) The other problem was that we left early in the morning and there was no information on what to do with the key and how to let yourself out.

Conveniently located. Wonderful welcome by the reception. Bed was very comfortable and everything was neat and clean. Nice ambience. We stayed in “The Pansy” room.

Only thing was the separate room was a single mezanine area that was still connected to the rest of the room so there was no privacy for those in the double bed. Perfect otherwise though and fine for group of friends!!

Twin room with the spa on the balcony was excellent. The gentleman at the front was lovely and friendly and quite thorough in showing us everything. The room itself was exceptional in terms of both the cleanliness and facilities available. Photos represented the rooms well. Spa was excellent!

It was very hard to find parking: free parking was absolutely impossible to find, and even paid parking lots were quite full (and quite pricey: 20 euros for 24 hours). Of course this is not the property's fault in any way.

This hotel is simply amazing: the ambience takes one back to Ottoman times (the building used to host a Turkish bath, hence the name), and the rooms are each decorated individually and are quite stunning. It is located right in the center of Rethymno old town, and yet it is very quiet. The spa Jacuzzi bathtub in my room was super nice. The host was very friendly and provided plenty of information and of suggestions for my stay in Rethymno, and also (before arrival) on where to park.

This hotel is a rare gem hidden in the old town of Rethymno. Walking into our deluxe suite with Hammam with its beautiful furniture and decor and our own private steam room, took us back in time and was absolutely magical! The domed ceiling had small skylight that looked like stars and the solid walls provided such peace even though we were right in the middle of the town. The amenities included what was needed for coffee and tea, bathrobes and slippers and sandals and peshtemal towels for the steam room. Our host, Michalis, was a true gracious gentleman, very knowledgeable and so very helpful (efcharisto, Michalis for everything!). We would rate this hotel 20/10 if we could and we would definitely stay here again!
