How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bathroom floor flooded slightly after showers, but nothing too bad
Location was amazing, room was very quiet despite being in the middle of a square, and the staff were very helpful. Very comfortable mattress, our best night's sleep while travelling in Greece. Free parking nearby and around a 10 min drive to Kalamata beach.

This isn’t a dislike - so much served at breakfast we felt bad with the amount of wastage. We were able to ask the breakfast room lady to leave some items off but felt a bit bad at what we couldn’t eat.
Location - great spot on main square. Didn’t find it overly noisy. Easy walk to old town and a longer walk to the coast. Just right for us. We had a massive double aspect room. Large balcony with seating and a clothes drying rack. Comfy bed, plenty of storage. The room was tastefully furnished/decorated. Breakfast plentiful. The staff - reception, breakfast room lady & cleaning staff were all so lovely. One more thing - the place smells absolutely fantastic. Loved our stay here; so pleased with our choice.

You may have difficulty finding a parking slot nearby.
Breakfast was very good. Room was excellent. Hotel is located in the city's main square.

Lack of credit card option on both stays. Our card worked everywhere else we used on our trip. We tried 3 different cards. Very confusing. Maybe time for a new card reader?
Loved it... Stayed here twice on our trip to Greece this year.

If I HAD to say one thing (but it seems to be a problem in all greek hotels): the number of standby lights on in the bedroom that prevents the room from being completely dark.
We arrived by car and the receptionist was incredibly helpful about parking and he helped us bring in our luggage. Exceptional service. Super-clean hotel. Excellent, massive breakfast. Nice decor.

It is located in the middle of town; of course that comes with the noise of the city. You need to park the car in a public car park.

Nice and cozy room in centre of the town. Room was very clean and we had everithing what we needed. Parking was 600m from the hotel.

All very good, no complaints at all.
We loved all of it! The team takes special care of their guest. Very comfortable bed and room, breakfast was very plentiful and the location is right in the center. Very quiet. Would stay there again for sure.

Since we checked in late at night (21:15) we asked for a later check out next morning, about an hour later (at 12:00) which seemed not to be offered at first, but when we paid the complaint, they seemed willing to provide us with that extra hour; it was not necessary though as we had already packed. No hard feelings since were understanding, albeit late.
The breakfast was really good and the rooms are centrally located rendering accommodation very convenient for those wishing to live close to amenities. The staff was kind and helpful.

Sometimes there was a smell of cigarettes in the main hall. We didn’t always have hot water in the shower. If you have a car bare in mind that it’s not easy to find parking around the hotel.
It’s located close to many restaurants and bars. The included breakfast was a good value.
