The only thing I’d say is the mattress was slightly uncomfortable, quite hard.

Fabulous little boutique bnb Really quirky and staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. Rooms were impressive. Breakfast was great too.

Couldn't really fault the guest house or our stay.

The guest house had a really lovely continental breakfast which had varied local produce and they had real pots of tea and coffee which was most welcome.

After a late night, we would’ve loved a cooked breakfast. This is not a criticism of the Ye Spotted Dogge at all, just our tummies craving hot food!

A delightful boutique hotel in the heart of Old Portsmouth, beautifully decorated by the owner throughout. Our room Mason, was very comfortable, so comfortable in fact we could have stayed longer. The private small bar at the front of the property offers a very wide selection of drinks in comfortable surroundings. Breakfast is continental with a fabulous selection of fruits, pastries, meats and cheeses. The hosts Ian and Alex are so hospitable and very knowledgeable of the area. Thank you for looking after us. We look forward to returning in warmer/dryer weather so that we can enjoy the stunning garden.

We really liked this place and actually we were just there for the one day and wish we had more time to enjoy the surrounding area. Plus everyone made us feel so welcome.

It has such a special feel to it where you feel at home as soon as you meet the staff. If you had special needs, no problem. I loved the bar room which was so comfortable and again we felt like a part of the group. The garden area was special, a quiet place to have drinks and enjoy the scenery.

The breakfast was excellent for me, as I rarely eat a cooked breakfast. The range of cereals, smoked salmon, cheeses, fresh fruit, toast and marmalade were just right. Also a great pot of tea! The location was excellent for me to attend the wedding as I could leave the car parked in the High Street and walk to HMS Warrior

The weather! Everything else was wonderful. Would love to have a birthday here with friends on a sunny weekend. Bar snacks offered without prompt, the guys running the bar were first class and caring about all guests whilst still looking after customers. There was nothing I didn’t like about ye spotted dogge, it was exceptional and exceeded all expectations.

The garden was exceptional, the hotel itself was beautiful and full to the brim of quality authentic local historical treasures. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, nothing was too much hassle. This is a gem we will be returning to.

We had a room where the shower was a hand held low down device over a bath. Not great when you are older. Maybe I should have checked or conversely maybe they should check with you first before allocating a room.

Beautiful historic building. The decor was fabulous and in keeping with its heritage. Loved our stay, adequate breakfast.

Ian was a delightful host, made me and my partner very welcome, gave us loads of history about the Duke of Buckingham and Henry VIII, even held the dagger that was used to assassinate the Duke of Buckingham himself. The room we stayed in was fantastic the chaddington and having the vintage bath in the room was the whole reason I chose that room in the first place, even though it maybe haunted just added to the excitement of all the wonderful history of the place, we stayed in the dukes bed chambers. Ian gave us some wonderful advice about what to visit while we were their, (Mary rose museum) and that did not disappoint what an amazing place and story. The continental breakfast was a great add on to the stay on the morning and was very refined , Ian again was a great host. Tbh I cannot fault this place, I will definitely go back when we go there again. Highly recommended to anyone

toilet seats in room and hall way a little vulnerable- very loose. not a big issue but did make you feel they could break if you sat on them. the party was a little noisy but again only one point lost for the stay as we just loved it.

The history and the sheer magnitude of the premises. It is quaint and you feel like you have somehow been touched by the regal world of days gone by. Ian is great and accommodating. We had a choice of rooms due too a ‘pickle’ event going on. The breakfast was fantastic - lots of choice and very fresh.
