Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI think that dog friendly rooms should have wooden/laminate floors instead of carpet so that they can be kept clean and free from stains

United KingdomThe dessert was a let down , we ordered sticky toffee pudding what a let down, for a start it tasted more like syrup pudding, it looked like it was a portion that had cut in half, it was ment to come with clotted cream, we got custard and cheep icecream. Very expensive for what we got and it didn't taste home made.
The hotel is set in a beautiful village. The rooms are large ,it suited our needs as we were staying a few days. The bed was large and very comfy. The staff go out of there way to help you. We only had dinner at the hotel once, the fish and chips were delicious .

SpainThe shower in our room didn’t work but we did get moved to a better room. Also the bed in our original room was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor.
When there was a problem with our room the staff were very helpful and moved us without any issues.

United KingdomThe bed mattress could do with an upgrade but it's very subjective as some like it softer and some firmer - I belong to the latter group.
The hotel is lovely, I expected it to be in worse shape than it is (as is often the case with country hotels). But it exceeded my expectations! The room was beautiful and not too cold, everything is clean and thought through. Staff are helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing, highly recommend the full veggie option

United KingdomVery small but would be quite helpful to have a mini fridge instead of the empty cupboard space underneath the coffee / tea table. Just to keep small bits like drinks or leftover snacks cool! Very minor though.
Really lovely hotel and very friendly staff. We stayed overnight for work and had a really nice albeit short time! The reception / lobby is beautiful and our room was perfect for what we needed. High praise for the excellent shower pressure and cleanliness overall in our room. We also could not fault the breakfast - absolutely delicious and freshly cooked. We'd happily stay here again :)

United KingdomThe food on our table (1) I would describe as no more than adequate. My Bang Bang Cauliflower was under-seasoned and bland, The Coq au Vin bore no resemblance to the classical dish, the chicken appeared to have been cooked separately from its sauce which was minimal. My sons, sitting on an adjacent table thought the food poor, Shrimps, not Prawns in the cocktail, Roast Beef that was hardly edible carved from the end of the joint. All in all the meal was a disappointment.
The facilities available for my sister's 80th birthday party were fine. Staff were helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe price of the drinks was high. I realise that hotel drinks are expensive but these seemed especially hiked. Not sure if it was for the occasion or was the regular pricing but it should be looked at. Everything else was perfect and perhaps Im just a little out of touch with modern pricing. Nevertheless an excellent time as usual.
Having stayed at the Wroxton on numerous occasions when visiting friends nearby I knew what to expect. My last stay had been marred by the hotel appearing to be deserted and run down a little from previous visits. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the hotel had had a makeover and that the lobby, restaurant and general demeanour was much improved. The staff were friendly, the room on the ground floor was very clean and very big and far enough away from the party we were attending to be quiet. The party was well organised with excellent food and the staff were attentive.
