Couldn’t fault it!

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival with coffee and homemade cake provided. Room and full bathroom was private, comfortable and very clean. Parking on site ample. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Hosts Sue & Richard were friendly and helpful with local knowledge and suggestions for day trips and places to eat. We would highly recommend Walker Ground Manor. Also, a bonus for us was knowing there would be no pets in the rooms or dining area.

We had a wonderful stay at Walker Ground Manor. We took a taxi from Windermere station, and Richard was there to greet us and kindly helped us with our bags. We were also offered tea and cake which was a lovely touch and gave us a chance to relax in the conservatory after a long train journey. Our room itself was lovely with a gorgeous bathroom that had views over the neighbouring fields. There was also a small fridge available for guest use which we made the most of to store our snacks for hiking! Both Sue and Richard were wonderful hosts, Richard gave us some top tips for walks in the local area and we really enjoyed being able to request more treats for the room as Sue’s baking is excellent! They also sent us lots of information regarding the area and places to book in for dinner in advance which was so helpful given we were staying on a bank holiday. The breakfasts were fantastic and there was lots to choose from on the pre-order form, we struggled to pick as it was all so good and used delicious local produce! Overall I’d definitely recommend a stay here, and we hope to go back. The location is great for nearby pubs, shops, walks and the bus to get around, and we couldn’t fault it!

This was a lovely old house above the village with large rooms and very comfortably furnished. The four poster bed was large and very comfortable. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful . The breakfast and homemade cakes were divine

Beautiful house in stunning location just a stroll away from the village centre. Everything is well prepared for you to relax and unwind. Gorgeous bedlinen, sumptuous bath overlooking lambs gambolling in the fields. Breakfast was bespoke with heaps of wonderful choices all home made and locally sourced.

Great location, short walk to centre of Hawkshead, the torches were appreciated for walking back in the dark at night. Friendly and helpful hosts, wide choice at breakfast, large clean room, comfy bed, nice gardens. Minor thing, water pressure a bit low in the shower

Fantastic house with amazing hosts Sue and Richard. Best home cooked breakfast. Chicken and a cat rounding around, a small waterfall in the garden. Extremely comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom.

It’s not something that bothered me but think it’s worth people being aware the house is old. There are squeaking floorboards certainly in our room (poster bed room), the floor was noisy but really it didn’t bother us at all. If you’re precious about those things, be aware.

Location was brilliant - ideal base to explore the lakes! The breakfast was amazing. The owners are lovely and gave lots of advice!
