Very dated rooms, wallpaper falling off walls/ceiling, needs some TLC. Menus not as good as previous visits. Evening meal very disappointing. Breakfast was ok. Hot breakfast was amazing however continental very poor in contrast to previous visits Disappointed to see The staff very stretched and having to severely multitask even when very busy.

Communal areas a bit tired with the decor. Menu a bit limited for vegetarians . A bit of mould above the shower.

Breakfast was disappointing (overcooked eggs, bad tea, coffee & yoghurts), decor was quite worn in places, thin curtains let in a lot of light all night.

Breakfast was acceptable but coffee was awful and tea not much better as it was lukewarm, the water was kept 'hot' rather than fresh hot water. We would have liked a teapot rather than having to use a teabag in a cup; Evening meal menu was unoriginal and not much choice, food we ordered was okay but nothing special and expensive for what it was

Our room was clean and comfortable with very nice toiletries provided in the bathroom and good tea/coffee making facility. Carafe of water was provided and appreciated. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful

The room was a little tired, but I understand the difficulties that hotels are facing post pandemic. If there are funds available I think a room refresh would be good. Overall very comfortable and clean.

Did not affect us but saw a couple who we watched waited for over an hour for food they ordered on the patio. The male member of staff who dealt with it showed little concern to the couple. I would have been spitting tacks by that stage

Some of the public areas could have done with a bit of a decorating, the paint was peeling off in some places.

Really lovely staff and the food was excellent. Fresh milk was available for tea in your room and lots of hot water with good bathroom products.

A major problem was that I was woken at 5.30am by the light coming into my room (room 4) - the curtains were very thin and let all the light through. The rooms need thicker curtains or blinds.

Not a dislike, but a comment. There are 3 Devonshire Arms Hotels within close proximity in the area. I have found it confusing in the past.

Disappointed that the ‘special’ on the chalk board wasn’t available but it was still on the board all weekend. We were also disappointed that the Sunday roasts weren’t available when we sat down at 7.30pm, it had been a very busy weekend though. Not very happy about dogs in the restaurant.

Lovely quiet room, with a four poster bed. Very good quality toiletries in the room. All the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. Ideal location for the Derbyshire Dales and Chatsworth House.
