How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was way too small for two people! It doesn't look at all like on the picture in Booking. It should not be offered as a double room even if it is a compact one. We were not able to move there! The good thing was that the stuff was nice and changed it as fast as it was possible - the next day. For the same price.

House keeping didnt change our bedsheets when we asked the room to be cleaned. No place to put toiletry bags in the bathroom. Had to ask for bedroom slippers. Were not readily available in the room. Only 2 complimentary bottles of water provided upon check in. No replenishment on a daily basis. Free wifi is not secure.
Friendly staff. Fast respond when we found out the ironing board in the cupboard was not functioning. Room size. Microwave was useful.

Rooms great and clean but attention to detail was slack; no daily top ups of tea/water, one milk pot was turned to cheese, a loose and potentially lethal loose socket under desk, hairdryer not working. Reception staff lovely and very professional. Location fantastic. It was housekeeping that was just a bit below par.

It’s nice to have a bottle of complimentary water on the first day. But if you can provide it every day, it will be even better. You can provide less expensive water Every day. A little more space in the room will be great
Your staff at the front desk are very helpful and friendly, especially the girl. Unfortunately I forgot her name. She served me on 23rd May when I checked in

It’s abit old. The air con was very very weak - the room was abit stuffy and the bed was too soft. The bedsheets were not that clean too.

Our room was in a building opposite the main hotel, in the basement. Extremely steep narrow stairs to get to it. Opened the curtains to scaffolding and a brick wall.
Location was great, a short walk to Kensington Park and The Royal Albert Hall, around 25 minutes away. Beds were comfy, bathroom small but clean. Staff polite and helpful.

Access to bathroom was very difficult to get in and out.

All 3 of us were in fold out beds, these were not comfortable and we didn’t sleep well. I wish I had known that proper beds would not be in our room.

Everything was ok, the staff is good, but we had some problems, on booking said our room had elevator. But the room was in other part w/o elevator and we had to climb 3 stairs in first day with two 23kg bag and two of 10kg it was extremelly bad. On the leaving they sent someone to help. On the first day I've paid the breakfast with contactless card, when I tried to pay the second with contactless some issue happend, this things can happen I undestand, but we got maltreated by someone that identifies as Alex Roy, really rude.
Good location, helpful staff in general, good cleanliness.

It is not that spacious enough. And it lack a lot of amenities, like having a gym would be nice.

The room itself was very small for two people and luggage. The toilet was awkwardly placed too close to the wall. We were told we couldn't eat outside food in the common area near the bar, but saw many people who brought food in.
Fantastic location near Paddington Station. Lots of great breakfast options nearby.

Our room was across the road from the main building. We' were on the fourth floor and there were no lifts. It was very difficult to climb the narrow stairs when carrying heavy suitcases.
Very conveniently situated. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

We were in the building across the road on the ground floor and close to the front door which banged and shook the room every time someone came in or out. Bathroom so tiny and bit tired around the edges
