I arrived after a day's work and was disappointed not to be able to order a drink indoors before table booking at 8.30 due to the golf club bar closing and being told to take our drinks outside. We had previously stayed in the main building, perhaps due to booking the Werhner restaurant for dinner, and preferred the room there. I had to change our booking and it took a few emails to change the date.

Easy check-in. Comfortable spacious room. Lovely meal in a relaxed atmosphere at Adam's Brasserie. Beautiful Gardens to stroll around in a peaceful setting. Even saw the resident peacock. A wonderful breakfast in Werhner's Restaurant. Service from all the staff was impeccable. .

Difficult to exit the property to pick up the walk again and we ended up climbing through a hole in the wall as the bridle path was closed. The room had t been properly serviced and the crockery for afternoon tea was dirty

The location is just off Lea valley walk, not that anyone at the hotel was aware!

Rooms are dated, communal areas look tired. Buffet breakfast felt a little chaotic - guests’ table & chairs too close to food serving areas.

Beautiful mansion house, Werner restaurant very opulent. Amazing grounds to wander around. Very friendly, professional staff throughout hotel. Good value stay for historic, country house.

The rooms are not sound proof- We found this unusual. Hearing loops/similar system needed for hard of hearing guests in reception and dining areas. Wifi and mobile phone signal poor in areas. Poor Wi Fi meant hearing aid not work for most of time.

The view from room was lovely. We liked the grounds, the large clean spacious rooms, the spa facilities and breakfast were excellent, the staff were all amazing. This is a lovely hotel.

Staff rather aloof. It would have been nice to have a few common courtesies. On checking out staff member just took our room key off us. No ‘have you enjoyed your stay? ‘ or ‘safe journey home’. We felt undervalued as guests. Lack of information also re dining options, room service etc

The service at lunch time was a little slow, we had to ask to see menus, ask to make our order and then ask for the the bill.

Issues at the Spa, the pool and other facilities were cold. There was a sign on the Sunday but we did not notice one or were advised on the Saturday. Only my daughter and I bothered on the Sunday knowing it would be cold. Some confusion over the breakfast on the Sunday which was slightly embarrassing. Cost of some of the drinks was very expensive.

Staff were very helpful, we had a room upgrade and it was really nice. I even had a staff member help when I was trying to get my car on charge. The food was good and there was a good veriaty as we had 2 vegans in the group.

One of the main reasons we chose Luton Hoo was because we could spend the day using the tennis courts and spa. Unfortunately the boiler in the Spa had broken down so the pool and showers were cold and the steam room not working. We were given a 10% discount but had to ask for it; it would have been good if we had been offered it without asking - and potentially given a greater discount. The tennis courts were in very poor condition which meant playing on them a challenge. They really need resurfacing.

We had just got married and were on our honeymoon. The hotel kindly upgraded us to their honeymoon suite which was lovely with its wonderful comfy bed. Breakfast excellent. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location.

The main public rooms were rather chilly. There was a cold wind that blew through the main doors and kept the lounge areas cool.

The landscaping needs some work, rock garden needs renewed, some items in the rooms were broken and could do with an upgrade such as taps, shower handles, AC controllers, but this is different from room to room and may not reflect everyone’s stay.

Great location, lovely staff, enjoyed Rob’s historical tour of the building, beautiful mansion house and breakfast room, lovely grounds and nice walks, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, great water pressure.

Didn’t book bed and breakfast, no option to change at hotel quite then expensive. Extras bill had charges that were not mine, service charge put on all food charges ie 2 pints of Pepsi from 19th hole £9.80 plus £4.50 service charge that I ordered from the bar, fair enough when i complained they removed them but if I had not checked i might not have noticed 2 phone calls to reception to Rectify.

My partner enjoyed the golf course. The golf course could have been maintained to a higher quality, it needs a little TLC in some areas but this may have been down to recent wet weather.

Beautiful grounds and mansion house. Staff were so friendly, big shout out to Chris the doorman who was so warm and cheerful. The staff at Adam’s brasserie went above and beyond. Lots of great food options for breakfast and dinner. The gym had a really good selection of machines and free weights. The rooms were slightly old fashioned but we thought ours was beautiful and it had a really good amount of space.

Some small details like real bouquet of flowers in the main house reception. The sanitary products in bathroom could be more for the star rating (only shampoo/ shower gel)

The breakfast buffet was excellent, not endlessly huge (which always makes me wonder how much food is wasted). My wife is British, and she thought the buffet should also offer - marmite! That's, honestly, the only critic that we can find.

Luton Hoo offers generously spaced rooms, comfortable armchairs, not only for 1 guest, but for 2 guests - obvious, but in so many rooms designed for 2, there is often only 1 armchair.

The heating broke in the room and the shower controls didn’t work properly either so that was disappointing. We missed not having a jacuzzi, the vitality poor was bubbly but not very warm like a jacuzzi. That was really disappointing, we only used the spa once as a result of this. Breakfast- we were not told you could order off a menu, we definitely would have done that. Buffet was ok but not 5star level. When we booked we were told there were no dinner slots available at all, so we had lunch as our dinner in the amazing restaurant. But the waitress said residents should always be able to book a dinner reservation and she said she could do 6 or 9 pm, which would have been perfect so that was extremely disappointing. Terrible really.

Location excellent, building and grounds excellent, service excellent, room size excellent shame heating wasn’t working and shower controls were stuck on boiling hot. Loved the bikes, loved the restaurant, staff were all really lovely. Lunch food was excellent.

We had to remind 3 different staff members during breakfast for our green tea; the exterior needs some maintenance and the rooms are outdated. The pricing of the food was reasonable
