Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Dinner was disappointing. Steak was overdone, duck was tough. When brought to the servers attention, he did comp the duck which was greatly appreciated,
Breakfast was good and it was nice to be able to select a hot meal instead of just continental.

Booked balcony room but it opened right to a deckf w tables for pub, loud and couldn't open windows despite heat because of safety and privacy issues. Disappointing to pay extra and have that. Very nice staff though!

Quite expensive, mainly due to location.
Good hotel in an excellent location for visiting Loch Ness. Very clean, staff are all professional and friendly. Food was very good, both at dinner and breakfast. The restaurant has an excellent view of the Loch. Our Loch view room was clean and comfortable.

We didn't try the restaurant in the evening but the prices seemed quite high. Averagel prices in the daytime.....just worth considering as an evening meal would not fit in as economically as the very good room prices.
We were upgraded to a newly decorated lake facing room. The room was spacious, very comfortable. Large screen tv with Netflix access (only via your own Netflix account). We had a very comfortable stay. There us a bar and restaurant on site. Obvs fab views as lakeside. This is part of a tourist stop type facility with a gift shop downstairs but it served us extremly well as an overnight stop. The receptionist was charming and very helpful.

Shower did not get hot! No tea bags in the room and no highland soap in the dispenser!
Great location, upgraded to junior suite newly decorated and furnished. Husband says he loved the box coffee bags - best coffee apparently! Breakfast and dinner were very nice! Staff friendly and helpful.

Great location a short distance outside Inverness and on Loch Ness. Close to Urqahart Castle and Loch Ness Experience. Food was great and service was excellent. Cruises available onsite if required.

The dinner food was prepared well but the options were all too "fancy", and there was not much variety. It would have been nice to have more "comfort food" rather than "haute cuisine". Also, more than one or two veggie options would have been really nice. The hotel was a little too "touristy" for my taste. Something more "homey" and less "Nessie" would have been better.
The view of Loch Ness from our room and from the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast was excellent, and I really appreciate the veggie full Scottish option. Veggie haggis was a treat. The staff were competent, friendly and welcoming. The packed lunch they prepared was superb also.

We returned to the hotel after 50 years of marriage. We spent the first night of our honeymoon there. We mentioned this to the receptionist on arrival. At dinner a plate of various bite size biscuits with congratulations written in chocolate on the plate. We were delighted. All the staff were pleasant and willing to listen to my husband chat. The room had a wonderful view of Loch Ness. It was tastefully decorated with lovely throws on the bed. High quality tea and coffee supplied. Lovely big shower with locally made toiletries supplied. Great food at evening meal and again at breakfast. Again great view of the loch.
