Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA nice remote-ish location at northwest Skye, attainable through farm (i.e.- narrow) roads. Comfortable accommodations, a very nice bed, great food- and it looked like a nice bar area too (but there was a wedding party going on). We had a great breakfast before leaving, and nice conversations with staff. Great parking, right in front!

United StatesThe room was cramped- the main light in the bedroom was a single light bulb -( maybe it is an art statement with the unique bulb)?
It had a lovely view of the tidal pools, the breakfast room was very nice and the breakfast was great! It was clean.

PortugalToo much noise. Also walls are paper thin so we could hear everything that was happening outside of hour room. Also we had issues either a dog playing inside one of the rooms making way too much noise
The location is fantastic.

United KingdomThe location was far from the centre of island and the route to this place was of no lights so a little difficult to drive there at night. Also, a bit expensive.
Warm and well-equipped especially in the centre of this island. It was a great comfort for us to finally relax ourselves after a long day of trip in the storm! Happy to enjoy the hot water and WiFi there. Breakfast was nice. The bed was comfortable. Staff were nice.

United KingdomThe atmosphere within the hotel was relaxing and the rooms are lovely. The one thing that stood out for me was the staff. The young lady ( can’t remember her name ) from reception / manager was exceptional. She dealt with minor issues very quickly and is a credit to the owners. The views from our breakfast table were unbelievable and the breakfast was exceptional.

United StatesThere were four people in our group and the staff was a little frank with us at times. One of our guest is in recovery, Hame on Skye had a open bar paid by the honor system.
The food was good. They serve dinner but the chef is only able to cook for one table at a time. If you order something more, you'll have to wait. But the atmosphere is great.

United StatesOur only complaint was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms as we could hear every single person walking past our room in the morning as well as noise from the breakfast room.
The whole hotel was clean and looked new. Our room was spacious. The hotel breakfast was fantastic. We loved the location for heading out to Neist Point Lighthouse and having dinner at Three Chimneys. Really great final night on Isle of Skye for us.

United StatesWe had some difficulty finding the place. Our GPS kept sending us to a location which was 2 miles past Hame on Sky. All this is not Hame on Sky's fault, but it added to the frustration. Now our booking was with Hame on Sky, and on the way there, we passed a place with a sign that said Hame Hotel. Well, if we would have been looking for Hame Hotel, we would have stopped there. So I did not like the fact that your signage does not match your Booking.com site. This was further frustration, and I strongly suggest you fix it today. Access to Hame on Sky is only via single lane two way road which is in poor condition.
The breakfast was very good and offered some choices of dishes that I had not tried before.

AustraliaThere was mould on the ceiling and cornices in the bathroom and the tile grout in the bathroom was also mouldy. There was only a 4 point powerboard in the room so not enough powerpoints. Our cooked breakfast came to the table lukewarm. For the price that was charged for the room, Expensive for what we got I found these things disappointing.
Beautiful location overlooking Pool Roag and the mountains in the distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was a little out of Dunvegan so they offered pizza and salad for dinner. Loved the "Honour Bar" with a good selection of drinks. The communal lounge was great where you could gather and chat to other guests and the deck off the dining room looked over the water.
