I thought £25 was a bit excessive for my dog to sleep on the floor in my room.

Great location, pet friendly and good breakfast

The location is tricky to reach by bus. We arrived from central Newcastle on the frequent bus service, but had to cross a dangerous dual carriageway to get to the hotel. A crossing of some sort is needed. We later discovered a secluded footpath from the Metrocentre bus station. It's about a 10 minute walk but would be inadvisable in the dark or for lone travellers.

Tasty buffet breakfast with hot and cold food on offer. Friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms.

The price on booking.com appeared to change, as I stayed 2 nights and had different prices for each day. This was surprising, as I was sure it was one price and I selected 2 nights. This appeared to be a booking.com issue, so I can't blame the hotel.

Good priced hotel, in a good location, with friendly and helpful staff. Free parking, free breakfast also.

    No complaints

I got an excellent price, just £55 on a Sunday night, and everything was as you'd expect from a HI Ex. Plus there's a nice walk nearby - the hotel is at the spot where the River Derwent joins The Tyne.

No plug sockets next to the bed for the phones to charge. Limited plugs in general in the room. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, nice bread and bacon and sausages, but the eggs were powdered and the hash browns barely cooked.

Great location, easy to get to. Lots of parking and the staff were very lovely, friendly and helpful. Good and clean in the room, even if it was a bit tired. Breakfast was plentiful and you could help yourself as much as you wanted.

The door cards didn't work intially and requires me to go back and forth severally untill I had to ask the person at the reception who didn't look friendly to come and have a look at the door themselves. They eventually used one of the admin cards to open the door and promised to get us another card but didn't until I went to ask after about 2 hours

    Food was good
