How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Individual rooms are on the smaller size, and their access through the courtyard/parking of the hotel is not convenient.
Pleasant staff, the chambers are clean and recent, the breakfast is good and diversified. The hotel is well located in the historical center.

Excellent location in the city center with direct access to the main streets. Parking (optional). Rooms are big and clean, a the hotel has a nice restaurant with efforts in design and furniture. Breakfast is ok. Pleasant stay in the city center of Besancon, I can recommend this hotel if you are looking for something affordable and quiet for you and your family

It is not easy to get to the hotel. It is in the closed for car area of Besancon. When you see the road block, drive directly to it. And call the intercom. They will open the road for you

We were just there for one night and everything was very good. Nothing to complain about!
We had requested a room that could accommodate 3 adults, and they were able to provide it, which is not always easy in any hotel and especially not in France. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help us store our bags for a few hours. The breakfast was copious and had many options. It is suitable for travelers from many destinations. Our room was very comfortable and we all got a good night's sleep.

There was no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, no fridge for water and they only provided paper cups! All rooms looked out over the parking area so guests leaving early were woken up.
Location was great although difficult to find. We ended up parking 10 minutes away and walking in.

The room we had was spacious and had great beds. It was well suited for a trip with the three of us. The parking is closed off by a gate and therefore very safe.

The parking situation is not really very satisfactory. It’s rather difficult to reach the hotel, where you can drop off your bags, but then you have to go off in search of public parking. This was too far away.
It is a very nice well run hotel, which offers a lovely breakfast.

we were not provided information beforehand on how to drive to the hotel; you need to get permission to drive thru the pedestrian only street, which took a while to organise. Also the rooms are quite small, although very nicely furnished.

The room itself.
Absolut central location, stylish design, but i can't recommend our room No 1 (and 2). They are on ground level, directly in front of the parking place, no window. I'sure there a better rooms availble and the the stay would be "9". For one night it was ok. Top: Breakfast and location. Secure parking area.

A small refrigerator for bottled water or drinks in the rooms is, especially for the summer time, necessary because the tap water is not potable.
The very central location of the hotel, the availability of parking space, the size of the room, the airconditioning of the rooms, the friendly and helpful personnel, the good breakfast.

a silly comment ; but probably instructions on the coffee machine I noticed people not knowing where to put the plactic capsules/pods into the machine to start it. obviously if you have one you know, but when on holiday you like to try different things
room 008 exactly what we asked for . on the ground floor parking for our motorcycle friendly helful staff the room clean shower excellent bed all good and confortable breakfast was ok the central location and what a suprise it was to be so close to the centre of a lovely town
